Some chatter on the Surron FB group suggesting a rep at EICMA shared KYB as suspension of choice and a ~$7k price point. Also some details about light bee 2.0

Good post. KYB's at $7k is an attention getter. That is the demographic target right there on the bike. Man bun, tat's, beard, all black with tight jeans, backpack, black oversized watch etc. :D haven't seen any clear left side pictures. Does it have a rear brake pedal? The bikes in the video rear suspension sounded awful, you could hear it on every bump bottoming all the way around the track. Frame breaker type noises. That needs to be addressed up front or it will seriously reflect on the brand's readiness to be in the market.

Also, what about service and parts? I seem to recall issues with service and repairs on the Sur Ron’s, Luna Cycle having to canabilize bikes to get parts for customers. I don’t know the extent of that or if it’s still an issue though.

$6690 delivered to U.S. from Alibaba. Who's up for an early adopter? No way all the questions are going to be answered upfront, this is a leap of faith. Based upon the Sur Ron's already out, and the videos of testing these will likely be reliable and fun and fast. The rear suspension is a concern, but hey you can get that worked on..

If my petty cash fund weren't already tapped, I would seriously consider being an early adopter to have a trail thrash bike, rather than beat the Alta so badly.

Yeah, I’m guessing it’s not legit.

Agreed.

I just emailed Luna Cycle asking if they are planning on selling the larger Storm Bee full sized dirt bike when its available from Sur Ron. They have done a great job supporting the Light Bee owners and I would expect the same if they start selling the larger Storm Bee.

If I hear anything back from them I will report back.

Isn’t Segway selling a SurRon thing? It is hard for me to keep track everything, fake news and all...

edit: plus I have neither the time nor patience to watch videos...
homepage

It's a re-branded Sur Ron Light Bee. Claiming 74 miles range, frikken ridiculous. Once they start shipping the new owners are going to be freaking out when they realize they only get 25-40 miles on a charge. And 40 miles milking it in the this is no fun way, Lol.

Luna Cycle got back to me with one of the all time not useful responses. Very strange, it’s almost like they don’t know anything about the imminent release of the full sized e-dirt bike:

“Hi there,

We don’t have any information on unreleased products but keep checking in!

- Kelly”

Yeah right, let me spend time checking in with you. How about you let me know when you know more. You know, maybe put together a list of potential buyers, like sales people do. They have this crazy thing called “leads.”

Guys, I was at EICMA and checked the Storm Bee out myself.
Yes it is a nice bike with decent CG ( centre of gravity) but not a Race bike as is, especially when it comes to suspension*, brakes and parts in general.
This is a Chinese bike with the Pro's and Con's
If I was living in the US I would MUCH rather buy a second hand Alta
* Once more I stress that a Chinese KYB suspension is not equivalent to that of a Japanese big 4 MX bike

What a member of this forum is writing about this bike is so much more reliable than all the promos and semi reviews we read online.
We needed someone to burst the bubble of this chinese mx bike...

I don't know what bubble you're talking about. Personally, I'm interested in learning as much as I can about this bike and am looking forward to real world reviews. And of course appreciate all the input from people who know anything about it, have seen it in person, etc.

Please keep the info coming.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Alta, and plan to ride it to death.

That said, it will never get any better, and there will never be any more of them, so someone somewhere needs to make the next generation. While the Bee bikes may not be superior to the Alta, it still needs to be proven that there is a market for high power, competition grade dirt bikes to convince the MFG management to make the investment in developing something as good or better than the Alta.

And by showing interest in the Bee bikes, and all the other newcomers, we help the next generation of cool electric dirt bikes.
