Thinking about making the plastics for alta

so there is the alta shroud stl(for anyone that wanted to print one), its smoothed alittle bit, and itll need a little bit of work if you want to print it.

Do you think you can scan the rear fender, subframe, shock mud flap, lower black plastic cover underneath the rear fender, and/or the rear tailight/license plate bracket for EX/EXR's? Or do you have some sort of size restriction on your scanner?

ive been thinking of those(just haven torn it apart), I dont have a ex/exr so i cant do that. but my scanner has no limitations ive scanned whole cars with it and whole dirtbikes.

i tried to upload them but it says their too big.

I think that 2006 Yamaha YZF shrouds May be the right size / configuration / shape etc.

I attached some pictures - would be willing to purchase a shroud off eBay and send it to you to try.

my 2013 kx450 are practically made for the alta with a little cutting. the ktm ones fit pretty good as well i just dont like covering the frame vents so i havent found a way i like it.

post #95 is the 2013 kx450 ones, i havent taken a pic of the ktm except before i cut it up post #86 but when i get time ill see if i can get a pic of the one i modified.

I got a second hand set of 2006 YZ shrouds and mocked them up. Needs a little fine tuning but fit is not bad and the knee area is really nice and smooth.

Would be good to 3D scan and add the Alta connection points

Interesting. I see you routed your LHRB through the frame. Interesting choice. It looks a little more protected that way, and doesn't produce a high-point for air bubbles down by the gearbox like the OEM routing does.

I highly recommend against it because it gives a chance to the hose to rub against the harnesses.

wouldnt it rub against the coolant lines also, or maybe its ran lower?
(idk cause i dont have a LHRB, but theres not much room in that frame especially if you want to replace the 9v battery)

This is good advise and should be taken seriously as rubbing through any of those wires will result in some terrible things happening. I have added some information to the DIY LHRB thread HERE.

I have been super busy lately, I havent done anything since i scaned the rear half of the bike and put it on here, also I no longer own an alta anymore
