I have the same disc. I paid much less, under 200 euro. Stark is pretty good on their pricing mostly, but there is a clean misalignment here. Also, I've seen you say the stark SM wheels are a good price, and they are not too bad. But once you add up the cost of the tyres, tubes (or tubeless system), discs and drive, you're looking pretty close to what you can order from any custom wheel builder.

As of recent Aliexpress is full of SM wheels for the Varg in the 500-800$ range.
No clue of the value or quality.

The disc is clearly designed specifically for the SM, with a different offset to provide more clearance for the caliper I suppose.
It's different from the one that already existed for KTM, BETA and Stark.

On a EX/MX I would go for this one (DF606SM) or the Breaking WK115L, as the classic "KTM 320 mm" brackets will not allow the caliper to fit the disc.

I think yours isn't exactly the same. What @rs911 said is true, the Stark disc has an offset. It's bent along the black part (which I don't know the name of) to give the brake caliper more space since it doesn't have a 320mm adapter on the fork. The fork already has its own mount for the caliper, everything is aligned

but if you scroll down it says that the Stark model for the front needs to be the "DF 607" for the front, not the "DF606". its confusing... for all other models it says 606 for front and 607 rear, but with stark is the other way around



"DELANTERO" means FRONT and TRASERO means REAR... Front is the left number of 607 for Varg

its not the first time that the "search for compatible models" said the wrong parts... ons time it recommends me a rotor with only 4 bolts, and other webs for nothing to do with bikes has also made mistakes... anyway, it seems accurate this time, what concerns me its just the last comment i made above

mmm... let me calculate it:

STARK OPTION

Stark wheels: 549 x 2= 1098€ (They are made by EXCEL)
Stark rear sprocket: 29.90€
Stark rear brake disc: 79.90€ (You can swap it with the current you have)
Galfer 320mm Front rotor: 199€ (Stark one isn't compatible with the EX)
KTM or Motomaster 320mm adapter: 99€
Tyres: Obviously depends, i choose ContiAttack sm2: 283€ at my country

TOTAL: 1788€

Then we have a lot of options for the Custom Wheel Builders, i think the best ones can be HAAN with their EXCEL rims, Warp 9 and SMPRO. Falco and Bold are also there. Probably a million more and everybody has their favorite... i know

HAAN OPTION

Their custom builder on web doesnt say any price, if i search on Google for what comes up from other sellers who sell complete EXCEL wheels, the prices are usually around €1,500 with hubs, sprockets and discs, tires not included.

1.500€ + 283 contiattack = 1.783€

WARP 9 OPTION

I do a custom wheel with a total of 1.652$ or 1433€ without tyres and with shipping included. (attached below)

1433€ + 283 contiattack = 1716€




SMPRO OPTION

Only wheels: 1795€
Stark rear sprocket: 29.90€
Stark rear brake disc: 79.90€
Galfer 320mm Front rotor: 199€
KTM or Motomaster 320mm adapter: 99€
Tyres: ContiAttack sm2: 283€

TOTAL: 2.458€




It's difficult to choose an option, and unfortunately, it seems that the Stark front wheel isn't compatible with the EX, so putting together a supermoto setup is complicated for me right now. well now im confused... on the unboxing video it seems that the disc is not the same as the one on the web...?¿?¿?

In my opinion, the one shown on the website looks like the central area, where the screws go, is tucked inwards, almost bent. I don't know if it's an optical illusion from the shadows or if I'm just imagining things. I thought that was for centering the disc with caliper, but now I'm not so sure. Looking at the disc in the unboxing video, it seems to be a normal disc; it's straight, without the indentation or bend I mentioned. The pattern on the floating black part is also different. The one shown in the unboxing should be 100% compatible with the EX.

Oh yeah its like a spacer, first time i see that... i dont know, i'm overwhelmed with so much information and so many compatibility comparisons, I have no idea which supermoto setup I'm going to end up choosing, I'm going to rest for a few days

Hello Carmelo,

We don't have the rims in stock yet, as we're prioritizing production. Regarding compatibility, they will be compatible with the EX, but the front rim will require different bushings because the fork dropouts are different between the SM and the EX.

As for installing rims from other brands like EXCEL, SM PRO, or WARP9, we don't recommend any modifications that aren't approved by Stark Future, as this could affect the motorcycle's safety and performance. Furthermore, any unauthorized modification could void your Stark VARG EX warranty.

seems like i am right with the analysis on the "tucked inwards" of the central black part... so that the spacer shouldnt be needed, first time i see a rotor like that, interesting

Yes, agree 100%. Nothing is gonna affect the bike so serious by just mounting SM wheels on the EX or MX, and t seems like i work for them, helping others by giving them information, it feels like i'm customer support. I take and upload a lot of photos and videos on instagram, free advertising content for them, haha. In fact, 10 photos they've uploaded to Instagram in the community posts are mine. I'm not trying to brag, but they've uploaded more of my photos than anyone else. They're clever, they advertise themselves for free using other people's photos. Also, I make a living from photography and videos, so I do it with pleasure.

i dont even know anymore... on Galfer website says that the D606SM is for the REAR not the FRONT. The FRONT is the D607 for the Stark according with Galfer, doesnt makes sense to me anyway. Look at my above post with the screenshots
