Hi Guys,

I just finished a 2010 YZ450F conversion. This one is running on 72v with a QS138 70H V3 motor and a Votol EM260 controller. The battery has a whopping 65ah for long range. We used the RS50 cells and I'm running an ANT smart BMS with open discharge.

I now own three Honda CRF250R/CRF450R converted bikes, a KTM 250sxf and this YZ450F.

One day soon I'm going to do some demo days at Glen Helen and Fox Raceways. Everyone is welcome to come ride these ebikes. I'd love for @DonCox to bring some of his magnificent creations for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks for sharing Dave. Bike looks great.

What series and parallel configuration are you running to get 65Ah with RS50 cells?

Is there more room in the Yamaha frame for the battery than a KTM frame?

The Yamaha has the most room in the frame for the battery and controller. If and when I do another YZ it will be a 2014 or newer chassis. The 2010 shock reservoir and the fuel tank and air filter box make the 2010 thru 2013 a little more difficult to convert. Nonetheless this year YZ is one of the best handling.

With the available space in both bikes I've been able to squeeze in 65ah of storage. I could get 75ah plus in the YZ if needed. With the extra storage comes a weight penalty.

Hope this helps.
