Curious, are the "weak rear brake issues" affecting riders with foot brake, hand brake or both?
i exactly dont know, we both have handbrake, on a slightly incline climb you notice the bike slowly going backwards, you have to push with all your force to stop it and that shouldn't be the case on an enduro bike. And if it is more steep you cant stop the wheel at all

big 600cc scooters have rear handbrake and they stop A LOT better, and they weight 250kg like the BMW C 650 GT
One thing to consider is that part of the mechanical advantage is given by the ratio between the radius of the rotor and the radius of the wheel. A Ø 220 mm on a 15" wheel will generate more braking torque than the same rotor on a 18" wheel (you should also add the height of the tyre, but you get the idea).
In this thread someone mentioned a 240 mm kit but apparently it's not plug and play and Stark says it will void the warranty.

I agree that the LHRB needs a lot of effort to lock the wheel, but for motocross I like it, it's controllable and after all I seldom want to lock the wheel in a MX track.

If you do want to brake really hard however it's a different story. After all, by looking at them it seems to me that a foot operated master cylinder has similar bore size and lever ratio but the force of your forefoot can easily be way higher than the one of your one or two fingers without feeling so tiring.

One thing that can help, also suggested by MX insructors, is to install the master cylinder inwards on the handlebar: it will increase the lever ratio since you will be pulling farther from the fulcrum.

interesting...

i want It to brake hard because i dont want to fall backwards on an uphill doing enduro, the bike is unable to stop with my weight on It, and the brake that can stop you is the rear

by the way, anyone knows when the SM model will be released? we got any info? i know it will be this year but want more specific date... if december It Will be exactly 1 year after the EX

Well, they've said "this year", it's obviously not finalized yet, preorders would probably open at least a couple of months before deliveries, then usual shenanigans for first deliveries delays.

I think for the EX it was about 4-5 months between preorders and firsts deliveries?

It might be a bit faster this time around (since they are more familiar with road homologation) but unless they open preorders really soon, I wouldn't count on having it by the Christmas tree.

Mine also has trouble blocking the bike and me on a steep downhill. I however have the ''luxery'' of hands the size some manufacturers don't even make gloves for so the pull is doable.

I would like a separate parking switch to quickly toggle crawl forward and reverse.
There is no tactile feeling from the + and - buttons on the EX switch.

Indeed.
And i know it's not technically posible as how the bike is build now, but i would like a parking brake as well. Now crawl mode kind of does that, but it drains power and the fan will turn on after some while and start being annoying. I want something like putting an ICE in gear.
Leave it like that to long and it will drain the battery bellow 0 and kill it. Well, it used to right after the update that implimented it, maybe it's secured now.

The Africa Twin 1000/1100 DCT has someting like that. Or maybe a hand brake like on a pallet card that you can lock.

Jajajaja... I have quite a bit of strength in my hand, I can close my fist very tightly and my forearm is trained thanks to 15 years of downhill biking, and it's not that we have more strength to brake with our feet, it's that the brake doesn't have enough strength to press the pads and that's it, there's no more.

hopefully stark adress that and maybe the SM model have a better LHRB... i will buy it because stark is not going to give it to me through warranty

maybe a mechanical device that blocks the chain... something that prevents the sprockets to move... something you can anchor or lock

You have the same MX1.0 as me don't you with the non-brembo LHRB?

I did a short test on the EX and that has the same Brembo LHRB as the newer 1.0 or 1.2 MX. That felt significantly stronger.

I'd start with a much more aggressive pad first, then go from there.

Also, Starks site seems to have a different master for the LGRB? Not near my EX, so can't confirm...
