Response from Stark Support
Thank you for contacting us and for your interest in the new portable charger.
This product is not yet available and will be produced with priority for the new VARG SM. It is expected to be available on our website within the next few months.
The price has not yet been determined and will be announced at the same time as its release.

It seems that everyone who has to trip over the barge that is the stand+charger is impressed by the new portable charger, BUT:
A street rider considering the Varg for the first time will reasonably ask why wasn't it possible to fit such a small unit into the bike.
Plenty of easy answers for those familiar with the timeline, but the simple answer is: they should have done it.
The SM isn't a competition bike, and the penalty of redesign shouldn't have affected intended use.
Hopefully now Stark knows how to build a small and light charger with decent power, all street bikes to come will have an onboard charger and the Varg SM will remain the exception.

For fast chargers though, we will see if/how they can fit that onboard in the future. I'm curious to see how big the onboard CCS2 charger is on the Honda WN7.

I think CCS will be possible as an adapter from stark charging port to ccs socket, unfortunanetly you will not get higher charging speeds (as I said before - due to wiring and fuses/ limitations) also that kind of adapter will be BULKY so even it can be even bigger than this external charger

Today i see on my EX that the APP update has a new 6.6kw power setting for charging... i heard Anton Wass talking about a new 6.6kw new charger but i think they dont release It yet... is the current charger capable of 6.6kw too? im confused

maybe the app is now update for the new incoming charger

I said it before but again, I saw video from inverter/controller tear down - from charging port line there are 20A fuses
battery is 100S so at 0% SoC it have about 320-330V - with 6,6kW even with 330V voltage you will need 20A - I am in 99% sure safe current for actual hardware will be about 15-16A so maybe 5kW

I have 43kW (63A 3 phase) + 20kW of solar power :D

for charging overnight you dont need even 3kW, - 1kW is more than enough 0-100% 7-8hours max

"I am in 99% sure safe current for actual hardware will be about 15-16A so maybe 5kW"

So are you saying that a 6.6kw power charging is not safe for the battery?

Nice info man, thank you

yeah, normally i use the slow charge mode of 1kw for overnight and thats good, better for battery health.

define "high charging speed". will 3,3kw be considered as high? at what max power do you think we will be able to charge the Varg?

Wich Gen was that teardown? Might very well be a Gen 1.0 and the 1.2 and EX having a higher rating as they thought of this future move...

How about you ride down the street twice, plug it in at full 6,6 and tell us what happens.

6,6kW is ok for battery but not for wiring/charging socket/fuses in inverter (in theory inverter isnt needed for charging but in stark charging wiring is connected throught inverter

i dont know, youtube video is posted 1year ago

WITH 0 modifications - i think 5kW is max
if you can bypass software SOMEHOW and plug charger directly to battery - I think even 10kW shoulnd be a problem
for sure fast charging will not be for everyone - mostly for TECH ppl

On their Instagram page, Stark has posted a picture of the portable charger with the writing "charging capacity 3.3 kw", so I guess that the option is for a new fast charger.

Cells like Molicel P50B have a fast charge rate of 5 C so they can be charged at 25 A and would take 12 min to fill up at this rate (obviously a bit longer in reality).
That would be 5,5 kW on standard 220 V.

I posted a screenshot from a teardown with the fuses visible in another context - the unit is said to be from an early Stark Varg. original video
That video shows a plastic cover. That means a 6.5kWh battery, seperate charge port where 1.0 Gen 2 allready got the charge port in the cover. So your info is on an outdated model. It's not unthinkable the 1.0 Gen 2 with integrated charge port is totally differently wired and fused isn't it?

True, @Erwin P - that's why I gave that information. I couldn't find any other pictures from the inverter, let alone from a later model. Everything I've seen in different places appear to come from fredwerx' teardown

To clarify - it's not my info or my interpretation, you discussed fuses or capabilities with @szczur333

yeah thats the new portable charger of 3.3, but should be another big one for "home charging" of 6.6kw, thats what the CEO said... no info yet but the APP is now showing the 6.6 option thats why im confused
