Just a quick internet search found plenty of reading on storing lithium batteries in the freezer. Seems that people recommend 40% SOC for storage.

Little brass thread inserts in plastic -- How to fix

The dealer had to replace the ACM immediately after I purchased my bike. They spun every single insert they could possibly spin. If it didn't come loose, they spun it till it melted the plastic and fell out. Thankfully, Alta replaced all the damaged pieces. I installed them without loctite...

Anybody with KTM Freeride E Please help!

I'm sure the rep was just reading off the spec sheet. The bikes will have to use US standard 220vac. Some call it 220, some say 240, but either way, it's 60hz. Yes, it's the voltage that your dryer uses, albeit the plug will be different. Many of the modern chargers can take 50 or 60hz, 110...

Harley Livewire - Demo Ride and Perspective

I loved both of their documentaries, Long Way Round and Long Way Down. Total jealousy.

New owner for #066 (2017 MX)

Welcome! My bikes live in the living room. Of course, it helps to have a couple of houses to keep the women happy. A His and Hers seems to work pretty good. The batteries do not like cold weather. Anything much below freezing and my bike doesnt really work unless its been inside the night...

    How do I drain coolant?

Bingo The foaming is from low level. Very common if the drain plug up top has not been blocked off. Coolant will leak when the bike is on it's side if it's not plugged. Somewhere on the forum it was reported that Alta pressure tested the coolant system and verified is was safe to block off...

    Code 103.....again

I would look at the adapter closely. It's unlikely that you have 3 240vac oulets that have the generator 4 prong plug that the Alta charger comes with, so I would guess you're using an adapter like @snydes is asking about. Have you tried a generator with the proper 240vac receptical?

    A budget steering stabilizer

I'll bet the purpose of the spring is just to keep the wheel straight when the bike is on the center kick stand. No self-respecting engineer would pretend that spring would provide steering stability.

    Website is Officially down

Good point! It was altamotors.co, not .com. So it's still registered to someone, or some entity, even if that entity doesn't exist, the reg hasn't expired.

    Website is Officially down

Yup, if no one pays the domain name registration fee, it's up for grabs. Registration renewals can be in one year intervals, or up to 5 years. No working credit card, no renewal!

    Gear noise while rolling.

To my knowledge no one has replaced that bearing. If the bearing was failing you would certainly have metal on the magnet. But this weekend I plan on opening my gear box to take a look around and I'll let you know if the pinion has any run out.

    CANCELED......2020 NE 24hr Challenge! July 18th & 19st 2020 Team AltaOwnersForum.com

I've spent a year trying to master this. I'd have to say I've got the minimizing wheel spin down. Carrying momentum into and through the corners is a bit tougher! But I work on it and see an improvement in my speed and energy use.

    CANCELED......2020 NE 24hr Challenge! July 18th & 19st 2020 Team AltaOwnersForum.com

Ok! Go ahead and tell me I'm crazy, but @Matt and I are considering a Duo Team. On Altas. So after some serious calculations and wild estimates, it just might be possible to get two laps on a full charge. IF that can be done, that would put the rider out there for about 80 minutes. 80...

    CANCELED......2020 NE 24hr Challenge! July 18th & 19st 2020 Team AltaOwnersForum.com

Ok, that's two guys! And a spare bike for parts! LOL. Fortunately we had zero bike problems last year! So right now @Matt and I can sign up for the Duo Team! Unfortunately, the charge time will be an issue. The laps are around 35-40 minutes, but the recharge time is about 2 hours. Some...

    Code 103.....again

Is the charger case black or silver? Black is the rapid charger, silver is the standard charger. Have you charged the bike yet? If not, I suggest changing electrical outlets that the charger is plugged into and see if you have the same error. Was the bike new or used? You need MT to know if...
