Battery care -- winter riding and hibernation

Probably as soon as you start riding/discharging the cells would warm up fast enough that’s it’s not an issue.

Battery care -- winter riding and hibernation

As I recall A packs cut back on power at lower charge levels.

    Alta Help in Utah

Good advice above (y) That’s a pretty early 2018, so I’d definitely make sure to update that firmware before doing anything else.

Alta Representing in the 2021 NMA Calendar

I've used one of the Stihl battery powered saws, and I got through more than I thought I would on a charge. I'd agree with a minimum of a 16" bar, 18" would be my preference but since we're talking about strapping one on the front of a bike there might have to be concessions. In the homeowner...

Why do the 2017 MX's get overlooked?

It’s because of the cell type. 2017 MX’s are way underrated, most people don’t need or benefit from the R pack bikes added map 4 power.

    6.6kw elcon charger

For the sake of future reference I went back and was re-reading some of the discussion Bloak and I had on this. He had taken some excellent notes what he was observing during charging between motos. So it looks like the average draw on a pack that has been lightly “warmed up” was in the...

    6.6kw elcon charger

@schwankl , yes, according to what I see on the generator it is. I’m going to be winging this off of memory but say the first time back on the charger I will see something like 3150 volt-amperes and if I’m putting it right back on after some additional run time I’d see 2950ish at the same SOC...

    6.6kw elcon charger

My generator has a volt-ampere meter, so I check it periodically during charging when I’m away with the bikes. There is a very noticeable difference in the draw once some heat gets in the batteries (less draw), so it appears that there are some adjustments being made to the requested charge...

Easy-to-follow battery charging protocol for weekend riding

I should have clarified my statement. I don’t want to suggest everyone store there bikes at 25%. For my bikes, unless it’s under 25% I wait closer till I’m ready to ride to fully charge/balance.

Easy-to-follow battery charging protocol for weekend riding

EDIT: 3.5-3.7 volts is generally considered a good storage voltage for 18650’s from everything I’ve seen/read. Our packs hit a cell voltage of around 3.5v at around 25%. Just food for thought.

    Subframe Crack. Worth Replacing?

IMO I'd probably drill a small hole at the end of the crack to keep it from propagating and then monitor it for a few rides. If it seems stable I'd use it.

    Displays button functions (POLL)

No, the V2 boards look and function nearly identical. Rashid had also referred to a CAN spoofer that is also being developed which would allow the bike to operate without a display unit entirely.

    Displays button functions (POLL)

There is no new display, only new housing for existing V2 boards that function exactly like the V1’s.

    Displays button functions (POLL)

You just have to do the math of total hours into total miles. There is no function for it.

    Displays button functions (POLL)

Just to reiterate this is in regards to a housing for existing raw boards, not an all new unit or a display vault. The problem we are working to solve is we have display boards available, but there are no housings for them in the event of a totally crunched display unit. I asked about how many...
