    OSET bikes

That's interesting. I didn't like the Oset design as it resulted in more unsprung weight. Not that it matters to a 3-5 year old, it just goes against what I've been taught about motor vehicles (seek to minimize unsprung weight so the suspension can do its job). That being said, I have had to...

    OSET bikes

Two thumbs up for the Osets. My son started on an OSET 12.5 when he was 3 and is now on a Kuberg Cross. Daughter is now on the Oset. The trials style makes it so a 3-year old can sit on the bike and get their feet down to learn. Then I picked up a seat that zip-ties on and fills in the...

    KTM Electric

Are they updating or producing new Freerides? It's funny, Kuberg's "big" bike is called the Freerider. I picked one up for my wife to buzz around the property on but it's based on mountain bike tech. I think the KTM might be a better option.

www.altamotors.co is down... then back up

Does someone have a way to pull and archive the youtube videos? I expect at some point I'm going to need to replace that pesky 9V battery and will need those vids.

For Sale Faster Faster or Alta shirts/gear

Hmm. We're pretty sure the shirts and other things in the shop.altamotors.co site were from a 3rd party (as they were fulfilling quickly even during all the drama). I wonder if we could figure out who it was? Could probably just cafe press it too... It's just for personal use and who owns...

    Switch to kill headlight/taillights

I'm not an expert but I've been following the folks w/ the NRC fender eliminators. In those threads no damage it done. You power down the bike and hook everything back up and it'll come back. You could simulate it (mostly) prior to splicing but just unplugging the lights w/ the bike on and...

    Dumbfounded Alta is no more

Ha! Yeah, my coach and my wife both like laughing at me. As soon as I get in over my head I try to get under the bike and stick out my shoulder and knee. That causes the front end to immediately wash out BTW :muutt: Also, I was terrified of sticking my foot out as I've had a couple knee...

    Dumbfounded Alta is no more

I'm new to dirt riding so I'm worn out before the bike. I'm hoping to start doing cross country races next year and the Oklahoma CC racing group does 1.5 hour races. So, until I get a lot faster the Alta will have plenty of range to do that. Just last week I was able to pin the throttle out...

    BAD NEWS

Yes, they could go work at Tesla or HD or whatever regardless of what the NDA says, but they can't give or sell Alta proprietary info (nor could they have taken anything with them). Whatever they can recreate from memory at their new employer is fair game (unless it was patented by Alta).

We know that is a Yes for the displays but @datadog has posted that a dealer can still do it. No connection to the mothership is required.

    Dumbfounded Alta is no more

I used to tangle with these folks related to EV cars. My line of questioning was around all of the other modern things that current cars had. For example, radial tires, fuel injection, traction control, disc brakes, etc, etc. If you're going to be pure, to pure. Heck, if you were a "real...

    Dumbfounded Alta is no more

I haven't had much interaction with the public yet, but the few folks I have talked to (my instructor and his son) are initially skeptical until they ride it. Then they are blown away and only complain about cost (because they have nothing else to complain about). When talking about EVs, I...

    New article [nothing new tho]

Probably the way the cut the reduction gears. When I rode the Mission prototype I commented on the large amount of gear noise. The CTO said it was because of the way they cut the gears. They had thought about changing it but then decided that they liked the sound. But who knows, all the ICE...
