Varg comfort seat options for trail riding

Anyone had a comfortable, trail riding seat made and installed on the stock seat pan yet? I've owned a lot of Seat Concept seats, and a few Sargent, over the years. Will probably order a second seat and put a seat kit on that seat pan rather than my original seat pan. I just reached out to Seat...

Displaying GPS/Trail/Mapping app on Stark phone while riding

This is the update I received from Stark. ---------- Currently, the Stark phone is designed to prioritize the VARG gauge display when the bike is engaged. This is to ensure that critical information related to the bike's performance and status is always visible to the rider. Unfortunately...

Displaying GPS/Trail/Mapping app on Stark phone while riding

Nice! Thanks for the idea @AL_V and @FreedomFlyer. I hadn't thought of that...but then I only loaded my mapping app one ride ago. I'll do this until Stark makes a change. This is even more reason for them to work on this. Should be able to have Stark app running in the background so it can...

Displaying GPS/Trail/Mapping app on Stark phone while riding

I emailed Stark. Meanwhile, their auto-reply, that acknowledged receipt of email, suggested I ask their AI bought "Sam". www.starkfuture.com/sam (Note: You have to be logged in to your Stark user account to use it). I couldn't resist some fun. I really should have saved the conversation as it...

    Charging with Active Cooling System

I found that curious as well as was curious of the point since the battery isn't liquid cooled. Seems like putting a fan blowing the battery while charging is about the only option for "active battery cooling" while charging. Ha.

    More information on display!!

Yes on these! And, would like the ability to display my GPS/Trail/Mapping app, that I loaded onto the Stark phone, as I drive. I just started a thread on that one: Displaying GPS/Trail/Mapping app on Stark phone while riding? Would really like to see that.

Stark Varg insurance in the Bay Area

Took about 10 minutes to insure mine on the Progressive website. We already have two ATVs on a Progressive policy, so I logged in, clicked "Add/Get a Quote", typed in the VIN and it popped up as a Varg. It gave me the deductible and other policy options, and gave me a quote. Clicked submit to...

Displaying GPS/Trail/Mapping app on Stark phone while riding

I have a GPS/Trail/Mapping app that I loaded on my Stark phone (onX Offroad in this case, but question applies to any mapping/trail app). I've found that apps work and run normally on the phone, but while riding, only in the background. The issue is, every time you put the bike in drive, the...

    Stark Varg battery drained?

Important to pull the phone out of the cradle and power it down as well and then you can put it back in the cradle or bring it inside. Phone can be charged with USB C cord right before you use it again so the bike doesn't have to charge it. Some wireless charging pads work on the phone as well...

    2025 KTM Freeride E

All good points on the Lithium Ion. I suppose that the battery cycles to hours count depends on use case. Higher speed or more aggressive riding, 5.5kWh is about an hour of riding, but that is still 1,000 hours to degrade to 80% original capacity, so if someone rides even three battery cycles a...

    2025 KTM Freeride E

Most press releases say 11kW nominal, which is 14.75 hp. This is confirmed on the KTM website, though it also mentions 19.2kW peak (which is 25.74 hp so maybe some releases use nominal and some peak?) My guess is the 11kW rated power has to do with the Euro A2 motorcycle license be limited to...

    New Stark Discounts/Stock Tube Issues

Interesting! I found only one combination in the US that was not available immediately from the U.S. warehouse and that is any bike with a sidestand (every other combination is available in the warehouse and delivered in an estimated 10 days). The sidestand bike has an estimated delivery of...

    New Stark Discounts/Stock Tube Issues

It's simply to liquidate current backlog of inventory. They built to the number of pre-orders and enough of those were not fulfilled that there is a surplus of bikes in the warehouses. This price is to reduce inventory and the price is only on in- stock bikes. Once those are gone, so is the...

    New Stark Discounts/Stock Tube Issues

This isn't entirely different than other manufacturers offering rebates on a model year when new model year lands. Or on a current model when a new model refresh comes out. This might be a touch more money than those, but it happens yearly on many brands (dirtbike/motorcycles/ATV/UTV...

    New Stark Discounts/Stock Tube Issues

In the U.S., you pay sales tax based on the State you live in. Some States have very high tax rate, some have zero sales tax (like my State). There is no federal/country tax. As for early adopters, I ordered day one, but have not yet fullfilled my order. I have $300 downpayment sitting there...

    Yamaha 2000w generator/inverter

Your household 120v circuit could have been tripping because there were other loads on the same circuit at the same time. To avoid that, you could do several things: Remove all other loads on the same circuit. Use a different circuit with no other loads. Lower the charge rate (which lowers the...

    Half sized race battery?

Yeah, I agree there are motocross riders that need more battery capacity (range) than the Vargs current battery. I guess my point was they may WANT a higher capacity battery, but are they willing to live with the added weight? The extra weight might be a deal breaker where the trail and enduro...

    Half sized race battery?

Yes, it's understood that the battery case would have to increase in size to accommodate more capacity. So whether they use the same frame and mounting point, like @Erwin P mentions, or has a slightly altered frame for an offroad/enduro-focused model separate from the Varg, the battery case size...

    Half sized race battery?

Agreed! For my trail riding use, the range is the only thing keeping me from fulfilling my order. I'm used to 300+lb dual sports, so another 20lb of battery would still have me lighter and give me the range I need to do typical 40 to 50 miles trail rides without depleting the battery too far...

Stark Varg foot or hand brake?

My advice is swap all your bicycle brakes to be "moto style" which is RHFB. I have run all my MTB like that forever. Only bicycles that were not setup that way was a 10 speeds I rode in high school in the late 80s. Have ridden dirtbikes since I was 10 (early 80s) and so when I moved to the...
