    Owner's Review 10 minute review

Stock ratio (12/53) on the MXR is 4.42 14/53 - 3.79 12/45 - 3.75 13/50 - 3.85 (this is my setup) I like 13/50 as it’s still a good amount taller gears than stock and I can quickly swap rear wheels with my other 50T KTM wheels. Also, I was able to use the stock chain with only a minor adjustment.

I wish I could change out the throttle tube out. I think map 4 with a Throttle Tamer would be a nice setup. Using map 4 with the straight 1/4 turn throttle is hard to manage in the really tight stuff.

Considering changing to KTM triple clamps.

Has anyone changed out to KTM triple clamps? I would like to easily switch between front wheels on my KTM 300. Also, the Alta seems to get the front wheel knocked crooked when it's dropped a lot easier than the KTM. Besides needing to re-lace a KTM hub on the front, is there any downside? I am...

    2019 / 2020 wish list

#1 - hot-swap battery. This in my opinion needs to be made their top priority. #2 - User customizable maps. I could see this leading to a map exchange section on the forums. #3 - Narrower (concave like Philip said) shrouds. They really almost could go away completely but it might look weird. #4...

Replacement Plastic for Alta Redshift Models

I'd like to see someone make larger and less bulbous side number plates.

Is this the start of the Alta Hyper-Miler club?

Suspension exchange between Alta and KTM?

Swapped forks between the MXR and my KTM 250 SX with no issues.

I'm 165. I doubt it is that much difference.

    Holy 14T - Sweet Spot!

Duncan, it appears worse than that. I finally got the bike out for some testing and was hitting just a little over 20 miles and definitely couldn't get over 30 miles using map #1 on single-track. There are some races where we are able to stop in the pits between loops. I'll run the bike at those...

    How Far Have You Gone?

I am not sure how people are getting these distances. On single track I'm getting 20-30 miles and 2 hours tops with my MXR. This is sticking to map #1 99% of the time. I am using the throttle pretty smoothly and use regen when possible and still can't get more than 2 hrs ride time. With practice...

    Accessories available at MotoMinded

If it were me, I would tig-weld a post onto the frame. Fortunately, I was able to get my Ohlins to work on the Alta.

    Holy 14T - Sweet Spot!

I'm trying to wrap my head around this. I will be using the MXR as my race bike in sprint enduros this upcoming season. Typical distance is 60 miles and 80% technical single-track. I want to make sure to complete the event so I had planned to use map 1 for most of the race and switch to 2 or 3...

    Water in the rear subframe

Interesting. Looks like drilling a couple of small drain holes may become a common mod.

    Ohlins steering damper fits nicely

LOL... I figured someone would notice those. I like them a lot. I have done the SSS cartridge swap on my 300 and these Dal Soggio Spheres perform very similar. Honestly, if I primarily did motocross I'd probably stay with the AER's as they work fantastic there. However, my main riding is single...

    Ohlins steering damper fits nicely

Had to machine a custom stem nut since the KTM that the Ohlins steering damper was on before is threaded opposite (M/F) of the Alta. A very nice fit.
