I had the same issue with my Honda Eg2800. I did exactly what you are not supposed to do and simply removed the GFCI from my charger, and have had no issues.
My research told me the issue was with having a floating neutral in the generator, verses the more desirable bonded neutral.
If you declare them as competitive vehicles you will be a-OK. I'm sure there is something else involved so you avoid paying GST. I will see if I can find anything for you.

I just had a local company quote on getting the subframe and rear fender laser scanned so we would have CAD models of the parts. His quote was $460 USD for the raw scan data, which I could then make into proper CAD models myself. The front shroud and number plates would be a little cheaper...

I have a full set of everything that I was planning on having 3d scanned.

The answer is yes, but not as bad a problem as having a broken back!
Had a bad get off at the races a week ago, luckily I am expected to make %100 recovery. The bike took a hell of a hit and this seems to be the worst problem with it.
