You know, thats just plain awesome to have someone like you volunteer to keep my EXR in tip top shape. I really appreciate it. That said, I think some plain old road riding will keep things good.
+1, got my sliders today. The outside temp according to my Mazda Speed 3 thermometer was 28F. The sliders had been sitting in my mail box for who knows how long. I can vouch that the sliders were flexy at below freezing temps. These things will probably outlast the stock unit no problem.
It is. And this year I may have more than that. Next month I have total knee replacement surgery. I am told I could be down for 12 weeks to 6 months, that means I can only ride on the road and dirt roads for a bit.
This is why I wish we had some kind of voltage indicator. One can tell alot about a battery by how much volt sag there is when getting on the throttle. When I picked up my bike, it was on the floor at 100% charge and had 5.8 miles on the OD. Don't have any idea how long it set like that. But...
Agreed, the M59 up front is THE best all around knobby on planet earth. It does everything well, from snow to mud to loose to hard packed. Unfortunately it won't last long on the pavement. 505 cheater is up there as well, can't go wrong with that tire either.
Should the day come that my Alta quits working, and I can't get it going, I will put money on the table for your TM. Thats one of my bucket lists bikes to own. Just by your posts, I can tell you have a nice collection of 2 wheeled machines.
Back at you and everybody else here on the Alta Owners Forum. Ironically, 2018 was the best year of my life... so far, and aside from career change I recently had, I attribute part of that to getting the EXR and finding a new level of 2 wheeled riding enjoyment. I feel that a lot of us here...
