I'm interested in seeing how this works out for you, I may have to copy your efforts if it manages to prevent mud and muck from building up on the front of the battery pack. Mine has about an inch buildup of mud after every ride in the winter when it's wet, and in Western Washington, that means...

Probably just the machine complaining about how boring interstates are to ride. Best keep it happy by staying on smaller and more interesting roads in the future; or even better, avoid roads altogether!
