    Varg - Gear Oil Change

I forgot to mention, my bike seemed to have less gear noise with fresh mobile 75w90 gear oil. There was some metallic goop on the magnet that I cleaned off. Not surprised for new gears and parts though.

    Aftermarket Kick Stand Mount

Has anyone tried this? I'm annoyed not having a kick stand due to the snapped mount and I don't really want to wait for Stark any longer. Racetorx Stark Varg side stand bracket - Racetorx

Use a Trail Tech Ride Computer Instead of the App!

Do you have part numbers for the sensor and magnet? I have a motogadget I just installed to run my lights etc, it would be great to get the distance function working.

    Varg - Gear Oil Change

I changed mine last weekend after about 10 hours on the bike. Overall easy riding hours. Only one ride with significant moisture from a deeper water section.

    New charging point.

Also, it looks like they had to modify the inverter housing top upper and lower cap to make room for this plug. The top cap material looks to be cast metal instead of plastic as well. Possibly for durability or improved thermal properties?

    Varg - Gear Oil Change

    Exactly

    Varg - Gear Oil Change

You are 100% correct. But this isn't a pressure vessel, and the seals will be designed as such. It's a gearbox with an open breather tube.

    Varg - Gear Oil Change

Heating and cooling cycles requires airflow in and out, breathing. 😜 If you only let air out with a one way valve, air will find other ways in under vacuum, such as bearing oil seals, gaskets etc. Other substances such as dirt and water can follow the air breathing if you don't control where...

    Varg - Gear Oil Change

The issue with this is you want it to breathe (in and out) but avoid water ingress. A gore vent would be perfect for this.

    Lights!

I'm sure they planned for future models with 12V needs, it would be short sighted not too. I still haven't had a chance to install everything yet but I believe these are the correct pins. When I ordered they didn't have cut singles available but they do now. I'll have about 98 spares if...

    Yes, agreed

    Anti-Theft?!

Yeah I agree. While a live data connection can certainly enable nefarious behavior, I highly doubt that's the case at the moment. They took a page right out of the Tesla playbook by having cellular and WiFi connected bikes which allows for simplicity and reliability in firmware/software updates...

    Lights!

I don't have much prepared right now to share but I can tell you if you look at the back of the VCU plug, you will see a number of rubber/silicone plugs blocking off unused terminals. A number of them appear to be a small gauge and likely signal connections grouped on one side, but there are...

    Anti-Theft?!

Unlikely but possible. Without knowing more details about the architecture and associated safeguards we really can't do more than speculate.

For Sale New Stark Future Lightweight Tubes 21/18

New and never used Stark 21/18 power tubes. $50 shipped. These are new replacements from Stark that just arrived a few days ago. I decided to use traditional heavy duty tubes since it suits my woods and trail riding better than ultra lightweight.

    Anti-Theft?!

Thanks for posting this. One thing to note is your gasket looks pinched and not in the channel on the right side. It looks like an assembly defect. I'd get some RTV on there before re assembling. I want to open mine up now to check the gasket integrity....especially since I've already had my...

    Lights!

Looks good! Also, FYI there is 12v available on the bike without cutting into the factory harness if you need it. I'm in the process of getting all of my street legal gear set up. I'm going to be running a motogadget for all the low voltage control and switching etc.

Stark Electric Bikes needed for 'Arctic Sea Ice Monitoring Terminal Deployment' programme.

How far do you need to go, what temps will you be riding in, and are you sure electric is the right type of bike for this?
