    Stark Varg on the Dyno

Another outstanding video, Bryan - thanks again.

New Stark Varg products are coming - Luxon Triple Clamps

Here's Alta's take (2018 MXR manual, p. 70): This is exactly what I felt after rotating my steering stem to 18mm offset rather than the stock 22mm, along with a slightly lighter-feeling front end (I was real happy I did it). The geometry is pretty straightforward (less = more), but the way a...

New bike day!!! First customer delivery worldwide!

Truly amazing - I kept thinking 'this almost seems unfair', & don't recall even one of the many you smoked giving chase. :) You are one smooth, efficient, and super-fast rider, with a real knack for quickly 'finding the hole' and then shooting through it.

    Excellent - thanks so much!

    General Mark911 moving to Ohio

May your move go smoothly! I spent a bunch of time there in the late 70's, met some excellent folks. Since apparently Varg sells new packs, it might be cool to offer battery mods/lightening if feasible, saving a ton of work. At the very least, it'd be an excellent opportunity to get familar...

Brand new throttle cuts out occasionally, trying to kill me.

In addition, here's something I saved from a previous post (can't find the post now): "Inverter Throttle Fault (if throttle rotated forward): "The latest FW version was already installed, so I located the real problem; the throttle cable plug/socket. One of the 6 male pins on the recessed...

A pack DC-DC section dead after left charging.

OK, bummer but worth checking out. Tyler Monagan had an A-pack partial teardown video on Youtube which you've surely watched already, too bad he never did part 2.

A pack DC-DC section dead after left charging.

I just took another look, and wondered if you'd tried loosening (not removing yet) the four Torx screws visible thru the PCB holes, and after that the eight nuts to the left? A lot to hope for, but it would be so cool if the whole PCB + unseen bottom components loosened up on whatever they're...

A pack DC-DC section dead after left charging.

Solder Wick or similar could be a great help - you might end up with several loose joints & only a few left to simultaneously heat. I also try to 'pre-load' the PCB/component w/thin plastic or wood wedges pushing up on it, so both hands are free & it instantly tries to move when the solder...

    First Customer Bikes are shipping!

The figures I found were 67g (42) and 70g (45), so I guess + 1.2kg / 2.6lbs for the cells alone plus whatever the battery-box increase is, assuming the cell count's the same (probably is, but does anyone know for sure?). +1 on the 600V, for sure - even 450V would probably be a big improvement...

    Stark Varg rear brake

That's what I'm doing, mainly because I believe the 10mm LHRB master cylinder Stark supplies won't be the 1-finger brake I want.

    2019 mxr fast charger issue

EVSource may be able to help you out - it looks like they have the same model CANBUS charger as yours in stock, provide free programming w/sale, and possibly do repairs/exchanges as well (don't know about that). They might want your unit sent to them beforehand, to swap the output cable.

Maybe a max-power limit could be imposed on the smaller battery (maybe 50hp or whatever) to keep cell life high? This would work great for me, I've never pushed the limits of my Alta in any way except range once (after starting off at 60%). With 100 less cells and no longer any requirement for...

    First Customer Bikes are shipping!

Here's a suggestion to Stark; offer batteries in the standard 100S4P configuration (6.5kWh) and 100S3P (4.8kWh), which should be @ 7kg / 14.7 lbs lighter using P45B's. Imo this would also be an ideal time to make at least the new lighter battery easier to change out, potentially killing another...

    First Customer Bikes are shipping!

+1 - but one thing I've learned from the 'electric experience' is that re design choices, increasing range will win out over decreasing weight. I understand why, but it's still frustrating to me as an owner that would be quite happy with 4kWh, and frickin' dee-lighted with a lighter bike. If...

    2019 mxr fast charger issue

OK, but since time is short my point is that many techs can at least look at it, possibly while you wait. If it doesn't work out you can always take it to your guy, maybe with info/readings from the 1st tech that will help him speed things up. Also, whatever smoked probably needs replacing and...

    2019 mxr fast charger issue

Maybe this is coming too late or you've already found something, but any decent electonics-repair place can at least tell you quickly what's wrong with your original charger, especially with a tip in advance. :) Here's a link to electronics-repair places in Fort Myers, and surely there are many...

Owner's Review Stark Varg - First Customer Review!

The demo bike had a Brembo rear caliper marked 22 8468 & 21 2F to go with the Formula LHRB MC. I've looked but found nothing on the Brembo - it may be a 22mm-piston caliper. :( At some point I'm going to research KTM adventure-bike rear calipers, might get lucky with a 30mm unit that bolts...

It's Formula Brakes. They have catalogs at their site, but I couldn't find the piston size for the FM10109-20 Stark unit above.

Owner's Review Stark Varg - First Customer Review!

Excellent video!! I definitely need to watch it again. It will be so great to be able to adjust the motor / throttle parameters. One thing I might want to do right away is drop the footpegs a bit, looks like a custom bracket might be needed (or maybe there will be an aftermarket solution).
