    Mileage and Range Expectations

Marty McFly that b*tch. Just grab ahold of some farm truck and have it pull you along for a few miles.

    Mileage and Range Expectations

Perhaps if you went downhill. Both ways. Just the opposite of going to school when we were kids. And less snow.

Easy WP fork tweaks (all models)

I always considered the whole nitrogen thing was pretty gimmicky for most applications. Regular old air is already 78% nitrogen. The only real advantage using 100% nitrogen is there is no moisture, and the water does tend to expand with heat. But otherwise, pure nitrogen just isn’t very...

    TCMB371 Video Thread

If this wedding thing is going to interfere with riding time, we might just need to organize an intervention. A dude’s gotta have some priorities.

    Triumph Buys OSET

Interesting acquisition. We knew Triumph was going to get into off-road and MX, but interesting way to tackle trials/kids/electric at the same time. https://racerxonline.com/2022/06/22/triumph-dives-deeper-into-off-road-market-acquires-oset

    I am customer #1

Kudos to Bryan for not only being customer #1 and getting married, but also for figuring out how to wrangle a sweet honeymoon in Barcelona with all the perks (e.g. riding motorcycles, eating for free at the Stark snack bar, drone footage of the honeymoon ride, a boost to his Insta viewership...

Media Review Media Week in Spain Discussion

I definitely need that auto-wheelie button! My anti-wheelie gene expresses itself strongly, with a definite forward weight-bias in the tummy region and cajones shrinking tendencies when faced with wheel loft angles above 3 degrees. I need all the electronic assistance I can get to overcome this...

Media Review Media Week in Spain - Electric Cycle Rider

The best thing I saw Stark do with its media day was provide other manufacturers’ 450 bikes for back-to-back comparisons. That was a ballsy move, and one that I don’t think anyone else would have the cajones to try. Well played, Stark.

General Do Electric Motorcycles Ever Catch on Fire?

It can happen. But not nearly as often as gas engines which are literally designed to catch fire (although mostly on the inside). Nobody seems to think twice about riding around on their motorcycles with a gallon or two of highly flammable gasoline strapped next to their crotchal region, though.

    Kickstand repair

Just remember not to put pressure on the kickstand when you are kickstarting the bike.

He thought he hated E-bikes, then he tried one! // Supercross racer’s reaction to an Alta EXR

Definitely. My son and I give rides almost every week, and we have a primo sales pitch. It is fun to watch the huge grin on people’s faces. The talk almost always turns to the Stark eventually.

    Varg Radiator placement

Interesting placement for the Varg radiator, behind the rear shock. Hadn’t noticed that in previous pics. Saw this on Facebook.

    MXR Spring weight and Sag

Definitely moving the axle back makes the swingarm a longer lever. But two links moves the axle about half an inch farther back (two links is more like an inch in total chain length, but divide by two since there are two sides to the chain.) So percentage wise there is not a whole lot of...

    MXR Spring weight and Sag

Possibly, but I think it is super negligible. Frankly, having an extra donut for breakfast probably affects the range more. I love the guys that will replace all the bolts on their bike with titanium to reduce weight, and then pack a toolkit, chainsaw, change of underwear, and a boombox on the...

    Upgrade C4S to AER's - Possible?

    MXR Spring weight and Sag

No. You just buy a longer chain. I bought a 120 link chain, and then cut it down to 118 links instead of the stock 116. At least I think that was the number. Basically just the next link up that you can put the master link. I put the old chain next to the new one and marked the next link to cut...

    MXR Spring weight and Sag

Yes, I also added a link to the chain on both of my bikes. It made fitting wider tires easier. It also moved the tire back a bit so it doesn’t rub on that little protruding section under the rear fender when it does bottom. Otherwise the bikes tend to get this skid-mark under that white piece...

    MXR Spring weight and Sag

There is a suspension sub-forum that has a lot of this info. Suspension The stock 2018 MXR has a 60N/mm spring. That’s 6.1 kg/mm. It should have a marking on it like the one below. I upgraded to a 64N/mm spring on my bike, which helped. But I’m 240 lbs. My 150 lbs son rides it just fine without...
