I'm still in for this race. I honestly feel the Alta is too good not be picked up by KTM or some investor group. Anyhow, I need to get my monies worth of fun out it. No good just sitting around or selling it now.

Lets hope all the employees sent home today get their jobs back. It's not unheard of to purge employees before a merger or take-over. Happened to me in the 90s. All middle level management was let go when the company was purchased.

This just opened up a huge market for the aftermarket parts and service guys. I'm still working on my redesigned gear box cover that integrates the rear brake pedal and MC. It'll solve the problem if some breaks the RBH where the MC mounts to it. And it'll be much stronger.

That'll need to be uncovered. The fan will recirculate the hot air unless it has a fresh air supply.

Something doesn't sound right. There's little chance that left the assembly line like that. Any chance you can post some photos? I'm sure we can quickly identify the issue. It's tough when you don't have another Alta to compare it to, especially when you can't find a good photo online.

Warranty work is an issue at any dealership, irrespective of the distance. These bikes are totally different from any other bike the dealers work on. It's a learning curve for everyone, and sometimes it's a steep curve with bumps. I would have no issue buying from one dealer and getting it...

I'm in CT, and I have family in Plymouth, so I decided on Pilgram instead of Souhegan. Both places can be tough to get to due to traffic. I have some warranty work that needs to be done but I'm putting it off because it's a 4 hour round trip without traffic!
