Alta Redshift MXR and MX on a Dyno - Riding Maps Demystified

And the faster you accelerate, the more quickly you use the energy stored in the battery cells, the more the battery pack heats up, the higher the inefficiencies of the electrical system. I had to google this one too.

Alta Redshift MXR and MX on a Dyno - Riding Maps Demystified

I agree. I have seen no real range difference in my ST loop by riding in different modes. The more I roost my buddies, the less the range. No roosting, no real difference noticed in range for each mode.

    AOF mini rally.... very mini

I suspect you had more range left than indicated. I can get 42 miles of riding in and get back to the trailer with zero bars. I have pushed it to 45 with conservative riding and a max of 25mph on the roads. At 47 miles Tim throws me the tow strap of shame and drags me back...... what a nice...

    AOF mini rally.... very mini

Yeah, about that. I got what I deserved. I should not have been bombing through huge puddles, not knowing if a huge rock was just under the surface. It was quite the surprise to land in the water, and I was really surprised at how damn cold it was!

Here's an example of the conditions. This is coming up Babyhead at Pachaug. Even Duncan's Shinko R505 Cheater had it's work cut out for it!

    AOF mini rally.... very mini

Call it what you will, but this past weekend I met up with @Duncan at one of my favorite places to ride, and one of the only legal places on state land, Pachaug State Forest in CT. It was great to met up with a fellow Alta owner! Duncan is, as I expected, a super nice guy and a true motorcycle...

Did you keep your old bike?

The NETRA events my buddies and I have been doing are typically 75 miles, so the Alta would be more trouble than fun. Sure, you can cut off and head back early, but most of the events are a combination of private land and logging roads. Picking a spot to get back onto the road and having...

    2019 NE 24hr Challenge July 20th & 21st 2019, Team AltaOwnersForum.com is Official!

I'm sure we can find a couple more people by the signups in January. And hopefully someone would be willing to be an alternate. I talked with Mark at Task Racing and he's excited about sponsoring our all Alta teams. I offered to bring my Alta over to his shop for him to look it over, see if...

Cycle Key To Erase Battery Error

That's great news! It's been my experience that Alta will go above and beyond when you have their attention. A failed battery pack will definitely get their attention!

    Raced the National Enduro

This is absolutely true! As a matter of fact, it goes the same for road racing. Keeping the momentum up is so important for elapsed time, as well as conserving the battery on the Alta.

Light kit vs suspension upgrade? Light are definitely cheaper. Looks like you can spend thousands on suspension upgrades.

    Battery Pack Disassembled (Frustrating Weekend)

I suggest using both on-board cooling and a chilled water system when in the pits or charging. I have a coolshirt system for my race car, just a simple cooler with fish aquarium tank pump that pumps iced water to an under shirt with tubes in it. The tube couplers are water tight when...

New to forum -- EXR vs. MXR

I have a MX that I use on the road regularly. Some one on here coined it an EMX. I went with the MX for the weight and suspension. The MX is too soft for most on the motocross track, but I find it perfect for enduro riding and single track here in the North East. Adding lights is easy and...
