I think for ease of manufacture, such a protector should be made as a drop in of the existing unit, much like Trailtech does to protect their computers. I dont see any reason to get rid of the existing plastic case, but add an additional box of aluminum around it, with the earlier mentioned...

I concur on its cornering abilities. I was never a believer in how much of a difference no rotating inertia made until I rode an Alta.

The other deciding factor for me was if I decide to move on from the Alta, the cartridges are easily removed and sold off, and oem stuff put back in. Typically listing a used bike for sale with revalved suspension doesnt seem to get any return on investment.

My opinion is the 4cs is a terrible fork, stock or revalved. But I also think Philip is right in that the Spheres would need revalved for the Alta. If you have a local tuner whos put them into several Altas, then he atleast has a baseline to work with. I chose MXTech Lucky cartridges for mine...

My replacement battery was sent via FedEx in a nice purpose built plastic case. In the event someone were to replace a few cells, we’re assuming the code 36 would clear itself.

Mine would have been the early kit as I dropped it off to them 1.5 years ago to use as a template for a week. Then had them reprint it for my EXR 3 months ago

Ive spent 30 years building and buying obscure bikes and brands. Purchasing an Alta is just another extension of that for me. Im no financial genious, but this isnt a big surprise to me. Providing reps with vans, bikes, and paychecks adds up quick. I dont know how a dealer demo situation works...

I still race my 350 on a regular basis, and will be going to a new 250 smoker for next season. But only because the Alta doesnt have the range I need for most race events I do.
