    Varg spring rates ?

Received some info from Stark regarding spring rates fitted. Pretty 1st class of them to dig into it & supply that info IMO. Well done Stark Future. 143-154 weight range ; 5.4 N/mm shock & 4.6 N/mm forks. 154-165 weight range ; 5.6 N /mm shock & 4.8 N/mm forks. If the progression up the...

    Varg spring rates ?

Many of us have experience setting up suspension for a particular use & are aware of what spring rates are in range, If we know the rates we can have a lot more confidence that the choice made is the appropriate one beyond just ; 'choose lighter' or 'choose heavier'. Contacted Stark asking...

    Sur Ron Ultra Bee

Yeah, it's like mid-seventies all over again - without the noise. So .. if the 4kw Ultra bee gets 26mi on pretty fast single track, then the 6kw Varg ( + 50% ) would presumably be good for either side of about 40 miles ? Thats about an all day ride on the terrain we ride in, & full power...

    Varg spring rates ?

It would be useful if Stark would publish the fork & shock spring rates that correspond with those rider weight ranges, especially for those of us who plan on most usage to be other than moto.

    Varg spring rates ?

As the delivery date(s) inch ever closer, the window to fine tune or decide on options will be closing. One item that has been weighing a bit is the user specified spring rates on the bike, a critical consideration. I recall on the Stark website the suggestion that if the bike is to be used...

Varg to compete @ British MX championships

Was very much hoping there'd be a full effort in 2023 on the part of Stark Future for the British MX series .. apparently not just yet. From an interview 1/31/23 on MX Large with Gareth Hockey, the promoter of the British MX series ; MXLarge: Obviously Sebastien Tortelli mentioned that the ACU...

    General Varg Beater

Thanks for all the detail guys. August 31st ( ? ) can't come soon enough. Everything I'm hearing sounds as if Varg will be a tremendous bike for midwest / east coast enduro terrain. The characteristics of an electric bike seem to be a perfect fit, add to that the user programable parameters...

Thanks ! How much do you think the reduced gyroscopic effect of an electric contributes to those quicker times compared to your 200 or 300 on the same terrain ? Are there situations where the absence of all that reciprocating mass in the form of crank, piston, flywheel, clutch & transmission...

A 20% difference is monumental ! I have a well developed 250xcw but it does feel like a lot of machine sometimes when the going is slow, uneven & technical. Are these electric bikes THAT much easier to manuver over rough terrain than an ICE bike ? My impatience regarding delivery is growing .. .

    Stark's Battery pic

Thanks ! Good news indeed. A low watt draw LED headlight & maybe tiny tail light would only need be operable during inspection to be in compliance with some event rules.

Thank you Sir, A 2017 KTM SX 125 is a light chassis, so apparently the battery / motor combination is pretty heavy once one gets beyond 2.5kw or thereabouts ? The RM guy is easily an 'A' level rider & the course was fast, our terrain is more technical, about an 11-12mph average on a 24 mile...

Inspired. Tempted to source a late model 125 chassis & build my own ... Would it be a reasonable expectation to keep the weight under 225 & use a 6kw battery ? Are you guys building your own batteries with purchased cells or are complete batteries in a 6kw range available ? I need 25-30...

Varg to compete @ British MX championships

The whole point of the Stark Future project is as proof-of-concept that the Varg is superior to current gas powered technology, Stark has stated that on several occasions. Even though that idea is threatening to some - I'd hate to see them denied the opportunity to prove it on the track...

You've hit on the experience of many amateur woods riders that have moved from 300cc or mid size 4 stroke machines to 125 / 150 small bores, the lighter bikes require less effort to maneuver. We've discussed similar weight limitations for off road riding for several years as it applies to...

Varg to compete @ British MX championships

It's True that the evolution to 4 strokes was one of necessity to be competitive. If it were to occur ; A sea change back to electric would be similar as moving back to two strokes ; less maintenance, less $$ to run a program, FAR quieter & more easily adaptable to varying track configurations...

    Stark's Battery pic

Thanks. Doesn't sound like one would need to be too concerned about the battery, the bike can come inside during the worst ( Jan, Feb ) months, not really riding much if any during that time in this climate. The 12V comment is intriguing though .. is there a usable 12V output to power an LED...

If that's the case, I'd wonder what Stark has figured out that Honda hasn't given the comparison of radiator sizes & locations. Or did Honda just go with an existing configuration for their experiment & have more cooling than needed at the expense of weight & radiator vulnerability ? .

Varg to compete @ British MX championships

The annoucement came as part of the bi-monthly Stark newsletter ; The ACU; the internationally recognized National Governing Body for motorcycle sport in the UK allows The VARG to compete against combustion bikes. An exciting new chapter for Stark Future and the motorcycle...

Full sized dual radiators ? There's no combustion .. Do these controllers / motors / batteries run so hot that the same cooling capacity of an ICE bike is needed ? .

Varg to compete @ British MX championships

In that case, Stark might do well to put mid-pack level riders on the bike(s) for the British championships as a bigger picture strategy.
