That looks great. I bet you can not wait to get it on the track. I wish I could come over to ride with you. Great job.

Most electronic motor controllers used in Bicycles and Motorcycles have brake switches and a circuit to disable motor action when the switch on either brake is closed. If you disconnect the line, the motor works. If it is connected and you close the switch and the motor stops, regen comes on...

Why not 96 volts instead of 72?

The answers are in most of your statements. First of all the guy that was underwhelmed with the bikes performance, was running the wrong batteries. Samsung 50S do not supply the current in the 20S12P configuration. Maybe 16 or 20P you could get the current for the performance. That is why we...

Before you change the throttle, there are settings in the software that lets you soften it up. Adjust this number down from 16 toward 2 , 2 is very soft, 16 is aggressive.

Good questions. On a very hot day in the middle of the summer we ran into the most heat problems. The ANT BMS does give you temp readings and records them. The date /time is a little difficult to calculate, but it is recorded. The Open Discharge setup is not stopped by overtemp, it will just...

Dave, the throttle on my KTM was a Hirschmann throttle. I have also used the second one above ( from fmxxx666) with a standard cable and Hall sensor box. I like that feel the best. We have also used the Surron one. The cable one worked the best.

Yes. I just got a tag from that thread. There are a lot of people on there.

    E-bike race in Wisconsin?

Patrick, That sure looks like a great track. Unfortunately its 1830 miles for me to make it from Lake Havasu City, AZ. What bike are you riding? Opps, I see the Stark in your picture!!! There is going to be an Electric class race, there was last year too, but only 5 entries, at Daytona in the...

Fmxxx666, I know the wait is a real pain. I said it before, once it leaves Amorge, they have the UPS or FedEx number generated, but with no tracking, since it is not in there hands yet. It is on the mysterious shipping device (unknown, plane or Ship). Once it lands in your country the UPS or...

I am loaded, and I am driving to Fox raceway tomorrow, to camp overnight and ride sunday. Do you want me to bring the 450CRF Honda. Are you still interested in it. I can bring it with the test battery. Hope to see you there. I have a 2003 Flair Class A 32' Motorhome, with a trailer.

Hey guys, the waiting for the battery is painful. If you got the fed ex label info, the battery has shipped. I think they do not airship these batteries. It takes just way too long. But boat ship and Fed ex it once it reaches your country. It looks like in Germany they use UPS. For my builds, I...

Charge from Battery Bank without an Inverter to AC

I have done a little bit with this quick charge system idea. So I have a bike with 2 x 20S6P batteries in my YZ250F. We were riding in So Cal in the summer. After one 5-6 lap moto, we came in to charge and it did. I have a Dual Battery switch on it so I could separate them to charge, which...

    2023 Honda CRF250R with QS138 70H V3 Motor and EM260S Controller

The chargers I use are for 72V (nominal, 84V Peak 20S). You will need to get a generator for the track. Very few tracks have power, and now with all the Starks, you can't get to the outlets. They are only 120V 15A also. At that power, you can only push 84V 15A. So I bought a 50lbs 3500W...

You are right about frame not being the reference ground in the system, but I think the controller or motor do have ground on their cases. I had a wire come loose, and it sparked to the frame, but no serious damage, this started me looking into an earlier fuse in the power circuit.

    2023 Honda CRF250R with QS138 70H V3 Motor and EM260S Controller

These worked real good since the relay is built in. And you are right to seal it up. I burnt up a couple before I water sealed it.

    2023 Honda CRF250R with QS138 70H V3 Motor and EM260S Controller

Dave , here is a list of components I use for the 72-12 V converter, and wiring harness, and relay to make it all work. The problem is it won't work with the E&C wiring harness, you will need a stock Chinese harness from the controller. Give me a call if you have any questions.

No I haven't, But I have heard of them, as well as the E&C new controller, and 3Shul CL1000, and the EBMX x-9000 I think are all Vesc based controllers.

A lot of good questions and observations. First you are correct about welding aluminum to steel, it doesn't work. But you can weld steel to Stainless. So I would weld the new brackets to the swingarm tube in the rear, and in the front I would weld a steel or stainless spacer between the new...

I can see that you used the universal mounts from Lithium King. ( the long slots in the front) . These motors in this application are creating a lot of torque. Are your mounts steel? I would weld the back mount to the spacer on the swing arm bolt, and weld the spacer in the front between the...
