after 3 months with a dead bike, had the BCU replaced and the bike is back to life. today's ride went great. thanks for all the help with getting my bike back!

My favorites for dual sport are the Pirelli MT43. These are hybrid trial tires DOT approved. Very smooth on the road and capable off road. They also last surprisingly long time.

Bottom line - bike works great! After a lot of head scratching, I noticed the the connector (ACM to battery pack) was not well connected. Re-attached it and all work well (no need to flash anything). I apologize for the fake alarm, and thank everyone for their big help.

Will do that, thanks. It looks like the new BCU is a vanilla board with no fw at all. Perhaps we are trying to update a non existing firmware instead of installing the BCU's fw from scratch. Looks like the BCU have no version at all flashed on it. The blue lights are blinking on the board when...

Still same problem. Is there a specific order of components we should flash? Because we are waiting for a long time and it is still "waiting for target"

Got a new BCU for my EX. Installed it, and tried to flash the firmware with the Multitool. Ran into a problen, in which the bike can not finish the installation because it does not recognize certain components. I am attaching photos of the error windows. Any ideas?

this is the exact catalog name of the A pack's contctor - P105BDA P105-006 was a name probably used for Alta only, but they are the same.

A packs uses the P105-006 minitactors R packs uses the P125-007 minitactors

That will be a great help. These BCUs are failing, and finding a replacement is not easy. Please see uf you can also find blueprints for the A packs (EX. MX. SM).

Easiest thing would be to take the seat to a upholsterer, and have him redoo the inner material to your liking. Add material or take some out, replace some with a softer foam, and so on.. We have such a guy in Israel, and all short/tall riders use his skills all the time.

I would look at the Electric Motion Trial bike. That's a true professional bike. The Oset is a hybrid kind of bike.

I had a Zero FX with a belt drive. It was super smooth, but super unreliable for off road. Changed it to chain drive (Zero sell an aftermarket kit), and started abusing the bike off road without a problem. Off road pro machines like the Alta need a chain.

I actually don't race, but like you, looking to get into it. Hopefully next year. Where I live there are many Enduro instructors. It is advisable to take few lessons where you focus on body posture, braking, balance and so on. The sooner, the better, to prevent fixing bad habits. After that...
