@leeo45 I worked on a SM which used that damper and the owner who mounted it had it on the front of the head tube; behind the headlight/number plate. It was an interesting setup and moved pretty well.

If your able to de-construct the dongle kit that @OneLapper created and encapsulate that or somehow got your hands on the Alta dongle, that can simplify the connection.

Yep, it should work just fine. The SM/EXR rear fender has two screw holes at the end which are for the Alta lighting kit aka "beaver tail". The MX rear fender does not have those holes (Gold was on 17s and 18 MXs sorry for the blurryness)

Its somewhat understandable/helpful. The "fix" requires the opening of the top cover. Looking at the humidity sensor and also one of the smaller caps near the HV side. Separator?

Unfortunately MT will not work on a dead bike. Needs power for the can loop to function.
