The frech manufacturer "Electric Motion" sells its electric motorcycles in a street legal version in all Europe. They have no ABS. I would look how they do it, if I were you.

In Israel which is quite strict - the EX and SM are fully street legal. The MX and MXR can not be insured and are not street legal (they weren't even sold here). Israel is not Europe, but quite close 😉

I use the Michelin Starcross 5 120/90 which is much wider than the stock Metzler and it fits. Also used the very wide Pirelli MT43 and the plastic mud guard rubbed against it, so had to move it a bit. Remember, not all tires in the same numeric size are actually the same actual size.

The Maxxis Trailmaxx is the stock tire on the KTM Freeride. It is not DOT approved as opposed to the Pirelli MT43. Another good tire in that criteria is the Kenda Equibilibrium. For my type of riding (rocky enduro), these hybrid trial tires are great. They also last long.
