I was wondering about that too, but just assumed the 2x power thing had to be vs the current Sun-Ron. If its referring to a 20 hp dirt bike, again, major yawn. I'm assuming its just imprecise writing.

I'm guessing that is referring to 2x over the current Sun-Ron MX. And yes, if its a KTM Freeride competitor, that would be a shame (yawn). If its an Alta competitor, that has my attention.

Well, they did release a couple of teaser vids of their lecky dirt bike, rumor mill said they were trying to build an "Alta killer". And those Monkey bikes are killer! Spendy, but killer! Lol.

And I've been wondering about belt drive for the Altas. My chain is pretty noisy. I'm thinking a belt drive and rocks, gravel, sand, and mud don't mix too well. Not to mention the gearing change hassles since there's not an unlimited supply of belt drive sprockets the way there is for chain drives.

I agree to keep it conservative the first lap out there. For a data point, I've regularly been getting 40 miles of mixed street and dirt road on my MXR, speeds varying between 20-40 mph, "power setting" on 2 and 3, so I think the Alta's will do fine in race conditions if the laps are up to 20...
