Anton suggested to me that this was a legal issue. I know its required to drive with lights in Europe, but surely they don't have to be always on. I could turn off headlights on all my other bikes.

For me when I installed the horn the phone stopped beeping and vice versa when I dosconnect the horn

It may be a temperature sensor triggering it. I would check the coolant fluid. Top up, remove any air, or replace entirely.

Id assume they geared the EX shorter because of the nature of enduro, needed to get the front up over obstacles and lower speeds.
