MXR dead this morning... (and now alive!)

Now one more specimen to study and fix what broke on all the dead battery bikes before mine. Perhaps @Judaslefourbe and @Rashid510 could pinpoint what inside the BCU to look for?

MXR dead this morning... (and now alive!)

A new BCU did the trick. I will be posting a detailed report with pictures tonight.

MXR dead this morning... (and now alive!)

Maybe if these saddle bags were low and more forward. Preferably around the main battery. From a safety and stability standpoint, a heavy and hard-mounted luggage that is mounted high on the rear fender would upset the balance of the bike to the point where it is unsafe at high speeds. Even on...

    The R pack wirebond issue

I think one fuse-wire per battery should be sufficient, shouldn't it?

    MX Display totally dead (Fixed!!!)

That's normal if the display is disconnected.

Code 33 service required just appeared on display.

    Complete battery packs.

    MX Display totally dead (Fixed!!!)

I'd poke the display connector with a multimeter. You should see 12V on one wire and 9V on the other two, then the problem is likely with the display. Then I'd find a working display to borrow to try it out.

MXR dead this morning... (and now alive!)

LOL! I need to install MultiTool and program my new BCU. Without it the repair is not complete. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Learning about MultiTool now.

Code 33 service required just appeared on display.

It looks like they replaced the battery in that Code 33 thread, apparently because of the bad relay in the BCU unit, which is located in the top cover of the battery. There is a chance I may have those relays after my yesterday's repair. But we need someone with a deeper knowledge to pitch in...

How-To : Install and Use Alta Multitool Software

Wow, so the list of VINs and which firmware they get is already in there? Awesome! And, I assume, it can be edited too?? If so, folks can add on-board chargers to their EX/EXR/MX/MXRs, if the hardware is available, or remove them from their SMs, if they do not want an on-board charger. And they...

Talk me into buying an Alta. Talk me out of buying an Alta.

Definitely an MX or EX for slow trail riding. It has a slightly longer range, and the A-pack batteries and electronics appear to be more reliable.

Zero regrets here as well. The only regret is not buying my first Alta a year earlier.

MXR dead this morning... (and now alive!)

I am making a really good progress. Will be posting a longer update tonight or tomorrow. Got parts from @ElectroBraap and a lot of help and guidance from our local geek crew (@schwankl , @TCMB371 , @Mark911 , @snydes , @OneLapper , @Rashid510 and his ex-Alta contacts). I am sorry if I forgot...

My quest for a perfect Alta Redshift motocross suspension (Part 1)

I actually tested a 63 N/mm rear spring last weekend, up from my old stock 60 N/mm. It felt okay on a jumpy hardpack track. For loamy MX tracks, I think I would be going back to 60 N/mm. I had to pump up the fork to 169psi to restore the balance, else the rear was kicking and the front was...

For Sale Parts now available for sale

In defense of the AOF Store, it is not any more time consuming than eBay. But I agree with TCMB371 and privateer703 -- Michael should sell his parts any way he sees fit. Disregard the occasional remorseful buyer, or offer a 30-day money back guarantee.
