POLL - Have you had problems that required support from Alta Motors?

We have a poll about whether or not we would sell the bike if we were not getting a manufacturer's support. Hope you voted. This poll will hopefully show how reliable the bike is, and whether or not we can still enjoy our bikes if we didn't have a manufacturer's support. I made the votes to be...

POLL - Would you keep your Redshift...

If Alta disappears, @Mark911 will then become The Alta Tuner. Zero competition from the factory or anyone else. Get ready for 70hp Redshifts with custom programmable controllers. Buy a dead Redshift on Craigslist for $500, send it and and $15K to Mark, and he will send it back with new...

How many miles/hours do you have on your ALTA

Yeah, my MX stock rear Bridgestone tire was gone after less than 300 miles of Arizona riding. They last way longer on softer terrains.

Any way to eliminate the key?

Yes, that's exactly what I do. I do not think having to mess with two switches makes things any safer. I still do not understand the purpose of the run switch. Does it allow to keep the head/tail light on when the key is off? I wouldn't know because my MXR does not have those. If the...

Any way to eliminate the key?

I never touch my run switch. It is always on, and I can charge just fine.

Any way to eliminate the key?

You do not need to touch the switch. I always keep mine on. Perhaps you could cut and connect the two switch wires together and re-wire the key wires to the switch.

Any way to eliminate the key?

My key always lives in the bike. I have never removed it.

POLL - Would you keep your Redshift...

Oops! That was me picking the top option, I screwed up. Luckily you can edit your vote. I also fixed the text of the third option. Hope it is clear now.

POLL - Would you keep your Redshift...

You should edit your third choice, it is ambiguous.

Anyone using SKF Oil/Dust Seals on the AER48?

I did install them on the MX, the MXR, and my old Husky. I did not notice much change in the stiction, those WP forks were sliding good before and after. I did it because the green SKF seals leak way less. I think the stock orange seals do not have a steel spring on the seal edge that keeps the...

    Anyone running Kreft suspension?

Woods and trails is what Kreft does best. They do revalve motocross bikes too, but they probably just match the dyno curves to some good known suspensions. I suspect they do not have any skilled MX riders to test for them, so when a curveball like a nose-heavy electric Redshift comes their way...

    BAD NEWS

Tempting! But I have already done the math. At 40 miles/day it would take me 3 months to get back home. Also, about $15K in hotel and food. And by the time I get back home I won't have my day job. I would still do it, if I could take a 3-month sabbatical. Not in a late fall - winter though.

    BAD NEWS

I tried using them last November to ship my MX from NY to AZ. Got some quotes, but only after 2-3 weeks. Also tried Freightquote.com, I have an account with them. Nobody knows how to ship bikes, everyone wants square containers. Ended up paying $550 to the dealer to use their sources to ship to...

Wow, this is cheap. I'd buy one if I didn't have to ship it.
