An Alta should be awesome for flat track and ice racing, but with 50hp I do not think you can hit 100+mph and be fast on straightaways. Also, there is no SMR yet, so you are limited to 42hp at this time. You might want to consider an MXR or EXR.

There is no method to lookup the firmware version that I know of. Only Alta knows what version your bike is running. Maybe your dealer too.

Interesting. I like it how Harley made the battery look like the cylinder air cooling fins. I hope the Harley Scrambler will be much cheaper than the Redshift SM. But I still prefer the Alta's Scrambler. Better proportions.

Thanks for the offer, @bluefxstc , but I bought these batteries a day before your post. They have built-in BMS for peace of mind. And my inverter already has a built-in battery charger. It only charges from 240V, but I might manage for now. I am going full steam ahead. Just ordered 4/0 AWG...

American machine shops sometimes do that -- try to save $0.25 on an "the best ultimate" accessory that costs $150 by using cheaper Standard bolts. :rolleyes: They do not realize that none of the auto or moto owners or mechanics use any Standard bolts or tools nowadays.

Yes, the suspension. The EX has a softer suspension than the MX. You may prefer one or the other for your weight and riding style.
