Suspension exchange between Alta and KTM?

The folk legs should be interchangeable. The KTM is about 20 lbs lighter, so the damping will probably be off. The shock could be interchangeable, but the damping will be off even farther. Why are you asking?

Cool, Butch! I should put an Eli Tomac sticker on my rear fender. Tell us more!

Ty Tremaine and Lyndon Poskitt to race in the Erzberg Rodeo

I guess, even a privateer team could bring two Alta bikes, or a bike and a spare battery, and enter this race. Perhaps the electric does have some advantage in such a race, so taking 5 minutes to swap batteries might be a reasonable trade-off. So, from this standpoint, this is not an idle...

    Owner's Review Ten Hour Review

Fog, you were going to review your suspension, once it is done. Is it done yet? How good it it, and what can you share?

Re-springing a 2017 Alta Redshift MX (and then revalving too)

Thanks, Fog. This is then one more option for the MXR suspension.

Re-springing a 2017 Alta Redshift MX (and then revalving too)

Kreft is currently tuning the MXR. They said it would take about a month. I considered sending my suspension to KTM World, but I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling when I talked to them. And I want that Revalve Control, so I might just wait and send my MXR suspension to Kreft when they are...

    Plug your coolant overflow hose

I agree 100%! Alta should give me an EXR and an SMR for a proper evaluation!

    Regen in different maps?!

@Oded @bluefxstc @snydes The original thread went haywire, so I moved the riding maps related posts here. Please click "Watch" at the top of this thread to get new post notifications. Also, PM me if you think I should have done this differently. Thx.

    Regen in different maps?!

I wish there was a way to tell the software/firmware version without going to a dealer. I too would like to know which software I have installed. @Judaslefourbe

An Open Petition to Alta to let us create our own maps (and to modify Map 3)

Yes, I also liked Map 3 on hardpack tracks. But if you gear the bike up it becomes not as attractive. Too much of a drop from Map 4. Likewise, if you do not gear up the bike, Map 4 is too big of a step-up in power from Map 3.

An Open Petition to Alta to let us create our own maps (and to modify Map 3)

Dear Alta Motors! Map 3 is weird and not very usable. It is jerkier than Map 2 but not any more powerful than Map 2 at higher speeds. Additionally, it is too far away from Map 4. Please make Map 3 to be exactly in between Map 2 and Map 4! Racers, myself included, have been fiddling with the...

    Holy 14T - Sweet Spot!

This is probably because less power is being wasted on the wheelspin when the bike is geared up. The wheelspin is a huge battery drainer. Also, we have no idea how significantly that "sweet spot" becomes unsweet outside of that 6-8K rpm range. Perhaps the motor is still efficient enough there.
