    Ohlins steering damper fits nicely

Throttle and brake at the same time? That's interesting. I have done that on ICE bikes, mostly mid-turn to gain more control over what the engine does. The Alta's engine offers a plenty of control, so I wasn't thinking about it mid-turn. But going over bumps... I will try that, thanks...

    Chain Slider failures

Some dirt bikes have parts that tend to fail in one way or another. But they do not offer warranties on their stuff. So you usually do not see long threads with complaints. Also, those bikes have been around for decades, so most known issues have been fixed. Alta offered some warranty on some...

@MotoMinded also wanted to start making those.

    Chain Slider failures

This is a solid advice, Ray. And I might eventually decide to do exactly that. There is but one problem with it though. Those Alta customers that didn't switch from Zero are not used to fixing up broken OEM parts, which should have been bulletproof from the factory! We are still...

    Chain Slider failures

Well, a new Alta slider would only be good to sell the bike with, not use it. But at least we put Alta on notice to fix this crap. Let's hope either they improve their sliders on the aftermarket does it for them.

    Ohlins steering damper fits nicely

I noticed than on the Alta I have to grip the bars much tighter when entering bumpy turns compared to other bikes. I wonder why that is. The possibilities are: 1) Front wheel caster trail too short; 2) Not enough steering friction; 3) The bike is heavy and it teeter-totters too much over...

    Holy 14T - Sweet Spot!

The battery drains about the same as in Map 2. The most favorite part for me is that I no longer have to twist the throtte goon-style on straightaways or on jump faces when Maps 2 or 3 run out of steam.

    Water in the rear subframe

Has anyone figured out yet where to drill a hole to allow all that water to drain? I washed my bike last weekend. At the track today, not dusty, not muddy, perfect. The bike is still clean, but the rear subframe looks like it has been through a mudhole. The water came out and picked up all the...

    Holy 14T - Sweet Spot!

I am testing my MX today with a 12/45 gearing. Very nice, I like it a lot! In Map 4 the pull begins slightly better than my old (stock) favorite Map 2 but continues pulling harder and much-much longer!

I had to ride an ICE bike this weekend

I sold my 2015 YZ450F and 2015 Husky TC250. Do not miss them at all. But I still have warm thoughts about my 2005 CRF250. It just needs its maintenance done, plus a few small repairs. Then it will be good for some MX and light trail riding. I also kept the 1995 CR250. It makes no financial...
