    Questions from a potential owner

That is very interesting. In its MXR press release Alta advertised the ability to run longer 45-minute Pro motos. Yes, the MX seems to be cutting power when there are a few bars left. Several remaining bars start blinking and you feel less power. This is when I stop jumping all but the smallest...

What is your favorite piece of gear?

No such debate where I am at. Knee braces incorporate knee guards, plus they keep the cartilages and ligaments protected, which is something that, once damaged, cannot regenerate itself like bones can. I was an idiot that I didn't spend $2K on custom knee braces earlier.

What is your favorite piece of gear?

Thanks for reminding me about helmets, Oded. I love my 2013 Airoh Aviator 2.1 Six Days. Best color scheme that I have ever owned. It is light and comfortable. But I have still been looking for something that vents as if I am not wearing any helmet at all. Leatt GPX 5.5 was a candidate, but I am...

What is your favorite piece of gear?

My favorite piece is the Oakley Airbrake googles. They were expensive, about $200, but after a short while I realized they were worth it. Very clear vision, easy lens cleaning, best eye protection, and most importantly for me -- they do not squeeze my nose and let me breath much better than...

    Questions from a potential owner

Welcome to the Forum, Brad! My personal trail riding experience is very limited. But what I noticed is that with the Redshift you will want to ride more often. It is just so much fun, much easier, and less stressful and tiring that with the gas bikes. And you can ride just as fast or faster...

I totally agree. This is a very accurate observation!

    Redshift EX around my neighborhood..

Yes, with the right tires I was! I have never tried paddle tires. You may want to try Dunlop MX12 rear. Do not get their front, stick with MX3S or get a Fatty.

    Redshift EX around my neighborhood..

Steve, you saw my pics and videos in deep sand. I was running fat tires and super low pressures with Tube Saddles. The bike was rolling on top of the sand and was not digging in. This is the first time I tried it and I now love sand!

    Redshift EX around my neighborhood..

No, no, you look just fine. I was just laughing that the most dangerous thing on this bike are the ribs on the shrouds that are really bad on unprotected knees.

    Redshift EX around my neighborhood..

Very nice!!! This is funny how you are wearing shorts and sneakers, but you protect your knees. The Redshift has those ridiculous shroud ribs that would hurt the insides of your knees if you are not wearing anything. I may have to do the same. I have been riding in my garage work jeans in my...

    New MX-R

The MX and MXR models have a 12/53 gearing. But the stock speedometer reports about 10% higher speed than the GPS speedometer does, at least on my MX it does. Perhaps it does not know which gearing the bike really has. And I should check my MXR top speed!

Owner's Review Redshift MXR owners ride review

It would be very nice to keep the Rapid charger with the generator in the van, and the Standard charger in the garage. Fewer things to drag around.

Does anyone have a PDF manual for the WP AER Fork?

Thank you, Ray. If Alta does not send me anything better, I will upload this '18 KTM 450SX-F manual into Resources. The'14 KTM 250 XC-F manual should be good for the MX models with the 4CS suspension.

Yes, click the picture icon, and then the chain link icon: On a PC you can also select/highlight any image in any browser, hit Ctrl-C (copy), then Ctrl-V (paste) when you want to paste it in your forum message. On a Mac, the commands are Command-C (copy) and Command-V (paste), I think. This...

Owner's Review Redshift MXR owners ride review

Wow. I must have gotten screwed out of a spare charger too. According to the Alta's press release: "The 2018 Redshift MXR priced at $11,995 with the option of new Rapid Charger for $799 or Standard at $499." How much did you guys pay for your chargers?

    New MX-R

Cool! Thank you for the idea and for the part numbers! I did notice that the top speed of 70mph on my MX is a bit ridiculous. I have never exceeded 45mph at a motocross track. But I did not know 11-tooth front sprockets were available for purchase! What about 10-tooth sprockets? If I try a...

Does anyone have a PDF manual for the WP AER Fork?

Ha! You are right! I checked the list of items that comes with the bike and it had an air pump on it! Just called my sales person and left a message. Hopefully I will pick it up next week together with the Rapid charger.

Owner's Review Redshift MXR owners ride review

That largely has to do with the fact that the Redshift has a slightly lower ground clearance than most MX bikes. You have to lift it higher to get it up on a center stand.

Owner's Review Redshift MXR owners ride review

Excellent review! Thank you, Steve! Looking very good on that MXR! Two American flags in the back, and you throwing roost! Wow, Alta will take your standard charger back when the Rapid one arrives? Very nice!!! I am then doubly impressed that you were able to charge the bike with your...

    New MX-R

I just compared the throttles on my old MX and my new MXR. They appear to be the same. Measured the angular travel -- exactly the same. What I am hoping for is that, with 25% more available power, the end result will be that the MXR throttle will feel 25% quicker.
