    Code 36 service required???

Sorry for the confusion. Each model (MX/EX/SM) started with #001. When the models changed to EXR/MXR, the VINs did not reset to 001. So there are three sets of VIN starting with 001. FYI, VIN starting characters: 56PARAA - SM 56PARAB - MX 56PARAC - EX 56PARAD - SMR (don't think any were...

Once again, please realize that 350v can kill you. Please leave battery disassembly to an experienced technician. And also realize that the repair for what causes code 36 is not going to be easily accomplished properly (i.e. a lasting repair) in most garages. If not properly done code 36 will...

    Code 36 service required???

No restarts for the last six digits. There are other digits that change in the VIN to indicate model year and specific model.

    Code 36 service required???

The 'A' packs did not have this issue, only some of the 'R' packs (MXR EXR)

    Broken display - solution?

Could possibly be. Since the display is part of the CAN bus, and the odometer/hours reading is stored in the ACM, in certain instances it will be necessary to plug into the diagnostic laptop to initialize the display. Adding a termination resistor probably won't work. I've never tried it, but I...

    Code 36 service required???

Pretty normal growing pains for any automotive manufacturing process. Alta replaced any battery that showed this issue, as they should have done . Recalls are safety related, and this issue did not require a recall. If Alta was still operating, it would have continued replacing any batteries...

    Code 36 service required???

The highest VIN I have listed with Code 36 is 426. This is a 2018 model. I'm pretty sure the 2019 MXRs were assembled after the production fix.

Alta parts on back order...any one got any yet?

As far as I know, the dealer didn't lie to you. What he said is true. We were out of displays before the doors closed. I know the former employee that is handling the orders is trying as hard as possible to get out what we have.

Comments are usually for suggesting changes or edits without actually making the change. The sheets work much like an Excel sheet on a network server.

How long does it take to balance the pack?

Recommended storage care for longer than a month is to charge the battery to between 40-60% SOC. As long as there are no parasitic drains, the battery should maintain partial charge through the winter. For longer periods, check the SOC and charge back to 40-60%.

If you need to stop the charging process, just flip the run switch off. Then you can disconnect or whatever you need to do.

If there are no new firmware updates and the laptop had downloaded the most recent version, that version is present on the laptop without connection to the cloud. If you replace a display or an ACM or a DCCP, etc., the laptop will communicate with the CAN bus and install proper firmware without...

How long does it take to balance the pack?

I have seen 100% SOC on the display and the diagnostic PC and waited for an hour and 20 minutes for balancing. 45 minutes is not out of the ordinary.

Chain Sliders and Alta parts, dealer only?

Japanese suppliers would call the front pat a 'chain buffer' and the rear a 'chain guide.' The front part is a disaster, something Alta was planning to change in the future. The rear guide can be replaced with a guide from a 2014 KTM 250.
