Did you cut much off the underside of the tank? and i see that you cut the top mount off the motor?
@DonCox would you mind if i used your battery dimensions also? can i ask if there was a reason that you didnt go wider a the base? would it be possible to make it a bit bigger to fit more in? or do you feel like it is the right size, now you have used it a bit.

A bigger battery is always better, but I plan on a quick change battery. So I need a little space to allow easy in and out. That is why I stuck with the size. It is really tight inside the battery box. 1/2” added on each side ( front to back and side to side.) makes for easier battery building and maybe more cells. I built one battery for my own KTM, and am building a second Go with the best battery for your needs. MX requires max current. While endurance requires larger MAH. Expensive batteries can give you both. Amorge can make just the box for you also. They are relatively inexpensive, just expensive shipping.

Just trying to finalise things with Amorge.
they are mentioning 96v with EVE 50PL as the best option for high KWH for max milage. so 50pl, 96V, 420/540amp . 26s9p .
over the 72V batteries i think you both have...

i think i am going with a fardriver ND961000

can i just sense check that with you both? We race hare scrambles and enduro with sprint stages in sweden and max milage at good pace is what im looking for. I know this might not be realistic in goals though. so a battery swap between stages will be needed. For local training we have a 8mile light ride to get the the training area. I would like to be able to ride too and from training and then home. which i do fine currently on a 300cc two stroke Beta in one tank.

For a first build, I would go with a votol, they are very simple to program. Fardriver is more complicated to program, and I think the EBMX X9000 V3 is really easy to program but expensive. But the Votol does not support 96V

I had a lot of set up problems with the FarDriver ND961000 where it would intermittently cut out - if you are going 96 volt recommend you pay the price and get the EBMX V3 - in the end I never fully resolved the problems with the FarDriver.

been talked into going 86.4v 24s10p Rs50. @DonCox, so that is ruling out the votol for being 72v. Amorge can make the battery box slightly wider at 9.5'inch to get the bigger BMS in the box. for 400a/600a

main reason for going fardriver for this is that i already have a nd72680 for my sons bike and would like to keep both the same tuning to learn if it works.
have a bit of local fardriver support too with people that have their bikes running well. Well noted about the votol and the ebmx. i would 100% do the ebmx but budget is getting tighter trying to do two at once.

The Reliance RS50 cells are the best choice. They give great power and long range. I’ve built two batteries using the RS50 cells and they work great.
