EX street tire question

Thanks for the info! I’ll probably go with the Karoo 4, they seem like great 50/50 tires. Later on, once I’ve saved up, I plan to get the Warp 9 kit for a supermoto build.

I also have another question: can I use a 14T or 15T front sprocket from the MX 1.2 on the EX to improve top speed and cruise comfortably at 80–90 km/h with lower RPM for better range? Would a 14/48 setup be enough, or would 15/48 be too tall and cause me to lose too much acceleration? For reference, I have the 60 hp version.

With the 15 it's still bloody fast in acceleration as well. On 60 hp it will still backflip from a standstill with 15-48.
You can use the KTM/Beta sprockets as well as those from all Starks. Mind you, the speedo will give a wrong reading.

I remember this conversation coming up years ago. Things might have changed since...
On average an SM 17 was between 0.5 and 1.5kg heavier than the equivalent sport bike 17. Tubeless SMs, more so.
Ultimately, for me, it's about aesthetics. I want my bike to stand out a bit.
nice, if you know some good looking sport bike wheels that will fit the Varg i will be happy to see them, feel free to share, maybe i do the same

Alright thanks, and there is no way to change the speedo reading ?
at the moment i dont think so... the APP should have the conversion feature, it just an easy matemathical thing... one guy in this forum build a pretty good APP by himself and has that feature so Stark should be able to do it

dude, i have the 60hp version too, and i have the 14t front with 48 rear, it has pleeeeenty of power, you dont loose anything jajaja i have the 14 from the MX because on the EX site there is only the 12t... im not sure if the 15 will fit because my 14 is literally 1mm away from touching the chain guide

15 does fit on the MX.

it seems that the EX has less space between the center of the sprocket and the chain guide, because my 14t it's so close that I can't see a space between them with my naked eye but somehow is not touching it, a 15 will definitely touch in my case, 1tooth is noticeable bigger believe ir or not

15T could touch on the EX, is noticeable bigger even with only 1 more tooth

I run 15/44 gearing on my supermoto setup and it fits fine. I wonder if the upcoming SM model has different reduction gearing as the EX runs out of rpm pretty quickly on larger asphalt tracks and it won't easily fit much longer gearing.

I'd be less worried about getting more speed out of the bike with changes to gearing, it can already make 170kph+ with 15/45 gearing. But at those speeds the battery is draining fast and the powertrain is overheating. I think these are issues best solved on the street version in their roadmap.

With 17" wheel and 15/44 gears the EX tops out at 165 km/h. The cooling runs out of capacity really quickly and needs to be improved for the SM and other road models
