The XE4 battery swap takes as little as 8 seconds. www.xemx1.com

I checked out your website. It's great that so many differenct companies are making conversion kits!! After all the issues we had with 2022+ KTMS, I will never buy another ICE bike again. You website said 500 amp battery?? Most batteries are listed in amp-hours or KW. How does your battery compare to Stark for size and life? Was making it swappable a major design goal? Do you plan to offer several different sizes of battery? I want to purchase a 1/2 size battery for my Stark at some point.

It looks like the swap battery is 4kw

Yes, we will be upgrading the web site and options for the bikes. With the new battery technology coming it seems like we will be able to keep up quicker than most others by doing this type of removeable system. Currently we offer a 3.65KW up to 4.7KW In the 21700 cells and from 50.4AH to 63AH.

I am excited about this:

"The XE4 is a liquid-cooled axial flux motor developed by XEMX. The XE4 is the magic sauce responsible for the unique feel to the power delivery of an XEMX dirtbike—feeling most similar to that of today's standard ICE MX dirtbikes."

I have my gripes with the power delivery of most DIY kits. How is this motor and controller combo different from others and from Stark/Alta?

@Philip What is your gripe about power delivery on the Stark? I would be interested to know. I came off SX125 and SX150 and I love the power delivery on the Stark. It's interesting to get other opinions.

The CEO of Stark, Anton, has mentioned multiple times that a future upgrade of the Stark app (Pro version for ~$3 per month) will have customizable throttle maps. I messed around with FPV racing drones a long time ago, and they all had custom throttle mapping which really helped "tune" the feel of the controller. I think Stark will have something very similar and allow all riders to get a tune that they like. Currently, Stark only allows changes to max HP and regen. Here is an example of throttle mapping from drones:

One very important part of our System. Whether it is do it yourself or we build a bike for you. It is completely programmable by the user throttle curves mode settings and more. 100% open source. No monthly Charge. If you have the knowledge or capability to do internal programming, otherwise you just use it as it is.

This is the latest version all billet motor with integrated quick swap battery system.
XE4 kits come with everything needed to convert a YZF or WR in one day.
Made in the USA.

For one it is Programable and fine tunable for the type of ridding you want to do. All open source, thru VESC.
Our base program is very linear, with a strong and smooth acceleration. All your tuning can be done from the App.

Also because we are using an Axial Flux motor, which basically has a flywheel, it has a lot less jerky motion.
With the use of Yamaha Frames and years behind it of race tested frames, it feels very natural to get on it a ride or race.

Head to Head race with the XE4 and the Stark.
The First Official Electric Bike Race of FTR was held at the Fox Hair Scramble on 9-14-2024.
Florida Trail Riders is the largest off road club in the US, with thousands of members.
The Electric Bike race was Saturday afternoon and started with 11 E Bikes on the start line.
One XE4, Four Starks, a couple Surron sized bikes and a custom RM.
The E Class started on the 8th Line so racers had to maneuver thru a hundred slower riders, big mistake.
With the sandy conditions we decided to swap batteries during the race and
After one hour and 5 minutes the result was a second place for Shawn on the XE4,
fifty seconds behind Linkin Bischoff, AA rider. Jacob Kapostins 3rd, Thunder McHaffie 5th both on Starks.

We quickly addressed the issue with stealthy bikes and AA riders coming up behind average
riders in the Saturday Afternoon race. Getting a Safety rule change to move the class to row 3
behind the Junior A riders. May make the race a bit faster and longer.

Because of all the Hurricane damage to our state and riding areas, all races had been postponed.
Next weekend will be the first race after a long pause.
With the changes we made to the XE4 over the break, we are looking to come out on top this time.

LOL! This is an awesome picture, if you want to "throw a rock" at Stark!

Is there already, or can you add such a thing as a "virtual flywheel" into your controller software?

Also, how does the rotational inertia of the axial flux motor compare to the inertia of the gas bikes? Is it like a 250 or 450 and in which gear? Curious about this because of the stability vs maneuverability plusses and minuses, as well as traction control and skimming the whoops vs falling into them.

Wow great questions. Frankly I don't have the expertise to answer those. I do know that you will always be in the right gear....

I noticed some talk about other features that riders want on there Electric MX bikes.
All XE4 Bikes/Kits have a 3 Mode switch with Reverse(Standard). A great option when you get it to
that corner you can't get out of. Switched with your Left thumb modes can also be changed on the fly.

We have also just introduced an Electronic Clutch in place of your traditional clutch. This can also
be programmed for the use of a Regen or rear Brake as well. All changeable thru the App. The clutch option
is still being fine tuned and it looks like it will be another great option to the already great XE4 set up.
