Really wanting to pickup a used Alta, mostly so I can tear around on my property without annoying the neighbors. Found one near me and hoping you guys/gals can help me with what to look for. My main concern is the battery and how long it lasts.... Am I correct in assuming that once it’s dead my bike is done for? Anyways, any pre purchase info would be greatly appreciated!

Fixing the battery will be possible, and the bike you are looking at has the more reliable version of battery pack.

As for how long it will last, nobody knows yet, none have been worn out. Unless you're asking about range... Then that bike should have an easy 40 mile range for aggressive trail riding.

Thanks for the replies!

1) What kind of miles are on your bikes? The one in the ad is at 995miles, seems low, which is good.

2) I’m a trail rider, currently on a 15’ KTM 300xcw.

3) Any input on the price they are asking for it?

4) Do the bikes have a special charger that comes with them, or does any higher end charger work?

1. I have 2200 miles on my EXR, the only problem I had with it was a prematurely bald rear tire.:ricky:

2. You will love an Alta for trail riding.

3. Price seems reasonable if it comes with a charger.

4. Yes, there is a specific proprietary charger for Alta's.
