Varg SM will launch in 2025

Big emphasis on road bikes (motocross was a way to build the brand, exploit a unique situation to compete directly against the best gas bikes)

Incoming models:

For the european market:

ÄLG: Adventure bike, 800cc equivalent, light, fast charging
LO: Street bike sharing same platform/powertrain than Älg

For the Asian market:
GIMLY? 100-500cc equivalent road bike, basic commuter with very competitive price, objective is low margin-high volume.

Then less advanced projects (I'll watch again later, not sure I got it right) the talk about Freeride, kids bike/85cc and ATV.

Lot of emphasis on power, lightness and fast charging. As announced a bit before, some models for Europe (high EV acceptance, infrastructure in place even if it varies a great deal among countries) will be made in Spain, some cheaper models for Asian market will be made in Asia (maybe with Royal Enfield?).

Fast charging is a must for road bikes, sweet IF you have access to it.
No talk about swappable batteries at all.

Have to say I was suprised at HOW open they were.

Stark is definitely at the mule stage for a lot of these bikes as I keep seeing bikes when I'm out and about...

Their factory is only 30 minutes from me and apparently alot of their staff live locally.

I just hope that as they expand that they can improve their support team as ATM, that is what's holding me back from wanting to buy from them again.

You should never leave the house without your Gopro 😁

IMO a 7/8th or 3/4 sized dirt bike is a huge market. Kids, shorter riders, women, beginners etc. A Sur Ron beater. Sur Ron competitors keep coming with more power and the aftermarket industry is huge. A smaller, lighter, cheaper version of the Varg would be great.
i got 3 friends that will buy it the first day... and i probably buy one when i finish paying my Varg...

IMO specs could be something like this:

Power: at least 30/40kw

Weight: not more than 80kg

Battery: i think a 4/5kwh could be possible (battery swapable or not is a known topic, if swapable i know It comes with design challenges and weight distribution, whatever is easier for them, i personally dont care) (But for the podcast i watch, Anton Wass is not very on the swapable side...)

Charging: 2 hours Max (thats easy)

Price: 5/6k

Licensed version would be amazing

They love power so they will probably put in more power than is really needed. The same adjustable power settings on the varg could be good, if not, at least 3 modes, eco(20kw)/sport(30kw)/turbo(40kw) or something like that. Personally, I would remove the idea of the phone and put some normal controls, a screen installed on the handlebar.

Maybe 230mm/250mm travel

And there you have a light and fun bike to have a great time with your friends and do some jumps.

A smaller bike, but able to withstand racing and track use with jumping. That's where the current China bikes fall short. A REAL dirt bike.

Like a Supermini or X Trainer sized, a big pit bike. Make a 19/17 and a 17/14 wheelset, use suspension like an 85, and follow the Varg pattern.

Talking about fast charging, Molicel INR-21700-P50B (EX and MX1.2 cells have not been disclosed but are believed to be quite similar to this) is rated at 5 C charge, just like incoming Molicel INR-21700-P60B (also bumping max discharge current from 60 to 90 A).

5 C charging capability means theoretical charging time of 13 min. Real charging time would be longer to account for balancing cells, safety factor and so on, maybe think about this more like 15 min to go from 20 to 80%.

Of course exploiting that would require some beefy fast charger about 40 kW or more (depending on battery size), typically CCS-range.

Coincidentally (or not), Honda has just teased its incoming EV fun roadster with CCS2.

Here are a few blurry screen grabs of the Varg SM.

From the outside, as expected it's very similar to EX with street tires and different suspensions. Guessing the hard work is to avoid overheating the battery with high continuous loads on the road.

Pirelli Supercorsa or one of their umpteenth variant
Edit: they should probably ass some rubber on those footpegs for the street

Sounds like a solid plan and I could be tempted by each of those bikes.

Most of the dirt I ride is such tight bush that the power and size of the Varg is overkill. I've a Light Bee but the build quality is trash. 30 kW and 80 kg and 3/4 size and reliable would be an excellent sweet spot.

A Gimli would also be an awesome commuter for me - that's what I'm using the Light Bee for and it works okish but lacks power and range. And for a commuter bike I want it cheap as chips. Again, the EX would be overkill for me.

Most of the tarmac I would like to ride... well I don't, because there's no bike out there for me right now. That could be covered by an adv bike with 15 kWh. We know the Royal Enfield Him-e has that capacity and in a couple of years that'll be closer to 18 kWh. So that's getting to be a solid competitor - more range than a Zero DSR although not as much as a KTM 690 or Ténéré.

And I love the statement "we could sell the company end of next year and we can all live happily on a paradise island ever after ... but that's too fucking boring". I get to work with a few people in the same situation. It's a pleasure to be alongside people who get up every morning with that attitude.

sounds nice, the Surron light bee is smaller than i want the "minivarg" to be, Supermini size is perfect... a big dirtbike with 40hp and lightweight, funny as hell... you can even do enduro with that bike and handle the weight more easily in technical sections, even to do 180 turns on narrow roads, thats where i struggle with my varg, maybe im just a noob

i think they are the Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV
strange that they didnt choose the continental contiattack SM2, very good and specific for lightweight SM bikes

Notice the front brake too, bigger rotor and new pump with the liquid holder (i dont know the name in english sorry)

They may offer the SM with various tires just like they do with the EX.

Choosing Pirelli might also be marketing choice, the brand carries an aura that Continental does not. They've been equipping World Superbikes for 20 years, switching to MotoGP for 2027 and most amateur paddocks are full of Pirelli-shod motorcycles, the brand is synonymous with racing. Stock tires of Ducatis as well.

Thats true, business-wise is the correct choice... not saying is not a good choice for performance, is a very good tyre... if you want to change it you are free to do so

Now that I think about it, it would be easy to create a single power unit and frame, and make it available in different seat heights by swapping wheel sizes. 65 sized, Mini 85 sized, Supermini, 7/8 and full sized. It would be a cheaper lighter version and would sell like crazy, and you could add different wheels as your kid grows. It's a formula some of the pit bike companies out of China already use, they all run 85cc plastics and seats (they have different engine sizes which wouldn't be needed on an e-bike). If you built it as a full sized with 21/19 wheels (what everyone puts on their Sur Rons) and suspension off of an 85 and around 40hp it would still be fast and light and FUN! Build it as a quick swap with a spare battery reasonably priced and Voila, a track weapon you could ride all day.

BTW there are 9 bikes/projects on the screen that is shown repeatedly (State Of Progress maybe?).

Screenshot_20250905-232221.png

I would guess top line is Varg MX, second line is EX, third line is SM, that means another 6 projects in the works:
Älg, Lo, Gimli, Freeride, ATV plus another one...

Awesome idea

i hope Stark somehow connects to your brain and reads the idea, or maybe they read this post :ROFLMAO:
