Alta parts on back order...any one got any yet?

As far as I know, the dealer didn't lie to you. What he said is true. We were out of displays before the doors closed. I know the former employee that is handling the orders is trying as hard as possible to get out what we have.

Comments are usually for suggesting changes or edits without actually making the change. The sheets work much like an Excel sheet on a network server.

How long does it take to balance the pack?

Recommended storage care for longer than a month is to charge the battery to between 40-60% SOC. As long as there are no parasitic drains, the battery should maintain partial charge through the winter. For longer periods, check the SOC and charge back to 40-60%.

    Alta Fast charger

If you need to stop the charging process, just flip the run switch off. Then you can disconnect or whatever you need to do.

Our own Alta software/firmware team -- Join in

If there are no new firmware updates and the laptop had downloaded the most recent version, that version is present on the laptop without connection to the cloud. If you replace a display or an ACM or a DCCP, etc., the laptop will communicate with the CAN bus and install proper firmware without...

How long does it take to balance the pack?

I have seen 100% SOC on the display and the diagnostic PC and waited for an hour and 20 minutes for balancing. 45 minutes is not out of the ordinary.

Chain Sliders and Alta parts, dealer only?

Japanese suppliers would call the front pat a 'chain buffer' and the rear a 'chain guide.' The front part is a disaster, something Alta was planning to change in the future. The rear guide can be replaced with a guide from a 2014 KTM 250.

    BAD NEWS

Here it is: Although Alta has ceased operations, there is still an opportunity that the company and it's assets will be purchased and resume operations. Unfortunately the chances of that happening are not high. In the short term, a slim team has been assembled to help with the wind down and...

    BAD NEWS

I think there will be some sort of release to dealers Tuesday. We owe it to them to inform them first. After that, the same info will go out to customers. I'm going to be here to take questions from everyone and try to provide support, The time to get support will be short. Stand by.

    BAD NEWS

I'm old school (and also old) so my method is to create a prototype by hand, test it, modify it if necessary, then hand it to a CNC team if I'm going to make multiples. It might take me longer, but the testing part should prevent redesign. I have been a racing crew chief and engineer for thirty...

    Broken display - solution?

Integrated. I've had some communications with what is left of Alta.. There may be a few displays left. Please be patient until we figure everything out. I think there might be some info tomorrow.

    Broken display - solution?

There is not. Displays are one of the items of which we had no inventory. So, even if Alta was still in business, you would have no parts. Engineering had spec'd a new display, but that was not delivered before the doors were closed.
