    Withdrawn Complete Alta Drivetrain

Mark911 said: Also: Please remove every thread and post I've made on the website. Thanks. If you do this there is a wealth of very useful information you have shared with us over the years that will be lost. All Alta owners will suffer from this. Maybe take a break from the forum for a few...

He thought he hated E-bikes, then he tried one! // Supercross racer’s reaction to an Alta EXR

I see one very good and long time local rider. I let him try my Alta when we were riding in Georgia. Every single time I've seen him since then, he goes on how the Alta was the fastest bike he had ever been on and that it was the most fun he every had on a bike. I think he liked it too.

    Best Motovan Ever

I know this isn't a motovan, but the idea will be to buy one of the new Amazon/Rivian vans. You would have the room and all the power to really make an Alta hauler. Until then, here was me yesterday. I can charge from from the batteries as I haul the bike.

General Do you miss using a clutch?

As much as I like the Alta and as smooth as it is, I would still like a clutch. My reasons stem from the technical type of single track that I ride. Smooth has always been the best way to get through some of the muddy, rooted, off camber, just plain nasty terrain. Using your wrist is a gross...

    Range on Moab-type slickrock?

The slickrock isn't a problem, it's the deep sand washes in between. When we rode out there the silckrock was a dream. You can get unbelievable traction on the steepest slope/off camber. When you drop into the low spots where the sand collects, it saps all your power.

That looks really good with the LI high cap battery, carbon frame, and clutch. Around 70kg is going to be under 160lbs

    Alta Multi Tool member list

Just had an alert on this thread and it reminded me. I want to give a big thank you to Rashd510 for helping me sort out that dealer laptop I got and upgrading it to the engineering version of MT. This forum has an amazing amount of talent and camaraderie.

    Alta Killing Alta

I started reading some of the comemts on his video. They just go on and on and on. Ryan really struck a nerve with this narrative, and not just with Alta fans!

You beat me to this post by minutes (maybe seconds). Makes you think even deeper about Harley.

Terrific - but will it be effective off-road ?

The only place I have found to be an issue is when you are in a mud rut and your rear wheel stops against a root that is maybe a foot jump up. From stationary, it is tough to keep the wheel from spinning yet get enough to get over the root. An electric clutch would work wonders here. I still...

    Off-Road Range Guess?

My first Alta was an MX which I made street worthy. I used LED lights and a small Lithium battery under the seat. It was a total loss system where it needed charged after each ride, but fully functioning. If I could get 6hr range (60-75mi) I would do it that way again. Until then I will...

    Off-Road Range Guess?

Another thing is to come out with a road legal version as soon as possible. Here in PA we have a lot of connections onto roads and just the appearance of being legal (with lights) would be helpful.

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

For Erzberg, did they not set up Ty Tremaine and Lyndon Poskitt's Altas with a heavier flywheel? What was the effect and how successful was the attempt? Has anyone else added flywheel weight to their Alta? Maybe time for another project.

Houston we have a problem ! Code 36

Another question would be; can I somehow transfer over the riding logs for my two bikes? I am assuming when I update Ubuntu and MT they could get lost in the shuffle.

Houston we have a problem ! Code 36

I went to take my dual sport '19 EXR Alta (Serial...145) out today, and saw the dreaded CODE 36 warning. Last year I was able to pick up a dealer laptop with the dealer version of Multi-tool but it is not the right version I believe. In dash I do not see the individual cell levels to check...
