Talk to Elcon in Sacramento, pretty sure, but don't know absolutely, that the Alta Fast Charger is based on the Elcon UHF charger. If it is, and they should be able to tell you if it is, they can fix or replace it.
If you can't fix it, Elcon in Sacramento should be able to fix or replace it. When I talked to them a couple of years ago, they said they could repair them. It may (probably) entail replacing the guts with new. The standard charger is a PFC charger in a different case with a CAN bus adaptor.
I have over 6K miles on my EX and the only thing I have had to replace are the rear tail light bulb and the tires. I did also change the gear lube a couple of times, but great bike. Turn it on, twist and go!
I bought a Oset for my 6 year old grandson. Great bike. The adjustable speed, power and acceleration was nice when he was learning. It was great being talk to him when we were riding since we were both on electrics.
I received this from the Over The Bars Gang, the race promoter. I told them the space was fine. See everyone when they get there, or earlier if you are passing through Boise. :ricky:
"Hey Gary,
Good to have you guys back!
I gave you your old team number 173C and put you in pit 63, Where...
Awesome, I did put you on the entry form hopping you would be able, but I didn't add your son. I can. PM me his name and tee shirt size. Not sure we can get him a shirt, but I will try.
That is 5 for the race. We have room for 1 more. Anyone else game?
Is there any level 2 charging around where you work? If so you could build an adaptor pretty easily that would allow you to charge there with the onboard charger. It would also probably be 220Vac so it might charge faster. I don't know anything about the onboard charger for an SM.
So it looks like we have 3 for the race right now. So far it is @Redwolf, @Philip and me. Anyone else interested? The race normally has 300-400 riders so more riders is not an issue. We would love to have more electric bikes at the event.
The actual address for the pits is 1140 Niva Rd, Centerville, WA 98613. If you put that in google maps it will show a little south of the pits. The pits are up by the pond and if you look at the satellite view you can see an outline of the camping/pit area up by Niva RD
Pre-entry deadline is 9/15 if you want the tee shirt, 10-1 without the tee shirt and the price for a team is $400. After 10-1 the price is $500 for a team. If I remember correctly there is also a $10-$20 dollar entry fee into the pits. There is no additional fee for camping.
@Philip we would...
Who is interested in participating in the 2022, 24 Hours of Starvation Ridge? We had Alta teams in 2019 & 2020. We skipped 2021 because we didn't get our act together soon enough. It is a great race to do as a team. The first year we had a team of 6, but in the second year we only had 3. We...
Federation of European Motorcyclists’ Associations view on the future of motorcycles. Interesting view, basically free choice and let the market decide.
The all-electric future and your motorcycle - Adventure Rider
If you can make it, you, and everyone else with an electric off road motorcycle, are absolutely welcome and encouraged to attend. Maybe you could carpool with a couple of other Alta owners to share the costs? Model Y sounds cool. Arrive with an electric bike in an electric car. :cool:
