Sebastian Tortelli on the Stark Varg

It is strange that they picked not the best footage of his riding. The bike was twitchy in the left turn before the uphill, and later it looked like he was close to crashing on the jump landing too. But he didn't crash, and the rider is happy, so that's all that matters. If Hill and Totally say...

    LHRB home brew

If I remember correctly, there is some kind of a vent in the large top thread of the master cylinder reservoir. Is there? I know it needs to be there, but it doesn't work very well. But in your design you had to eliminate it. Did you have to do anything special to seal that larger top thread?

Nissan, Volvo, Hyundai ramping down R&D for Internal Combustion Engines

The auto industry seems to be in deep trouble. I think they already can't beat Tesla on either performance or price. Pretty soon the legacy auto makers will remain profitable only in the markets where there is no electric charging infrastructure. And in those markets nobody cares about having...

    2018 MXR Suspension

Like @standbyu said, the clickers are just the size of the hole that bypasses the piston with all the shims. If your clickers are on full-soft, but your suspension is still harsh, then you need a revalve. Likewise, if your clickers are on full-stiff, but your suspension bottoms out, then you...

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

I think it is important to have the spare battery option available to those who want it. What good is a $13K bike if it can only be used for 30 minutes and then it has to be charged for 1.5 hours? Sometimes 1.5 hours is not available. Other times, people may not want to haul around a large...

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

I have a weighted vest that is made for training. I sometimes wear it when I do mountain biking. It weights 20 lbs. I am thinking you might need an exoskeleton to help you carry a 75-85 lbs structural battery in a backpack. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

    Storm Bee

So does anyone know whether the Sur-Ron Storm Bee has a quick swap battery?

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

I think the Sur-Ron Storm Bee has a quick swap battery. But everyone lost interest in it when the weight and power numbers came out.

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

We heard about this a year ago, but nothing has happened yet. When it happens, and if it happens, this will not start with motocross bikes. This will start with commuter scooters in Asia and maybe Europe, where motorcycles and scooters are used as transportation. They will have battery swap...

    Anyone Using 16:53 Gear Ratio

It would be helpful to know what the optimal motor RPM is for "fuel" economy. The SM comes with the 15/50 ratio, but it has 17" wheels. Maybe that ratio was selected for fuel economy?? @Rashid510

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

Yeah, there shouldn't have been any mentioning of subscriptions before explaining all the benefits. Let's hope the standard functionality is not too restricted and there are additional benefits to pay for subscriptions. Maybe some data sharing, similar to what LitPro is offering, I dunno...

General Lots of recent changes to the Forum

Greetings, Electric Dirt Riders! Recently, we have been working on updating the Forum. The biggest change is the new name - Electric Dirt Riders. The old Alta Owners Forum name is deeply embedded in all the forum's structure, so it will take a while to make all the necessary changes. We will...

Terrific - but will it be effective off-road ?

Judging by the punchy throttle response, the bike above does not have the same "traction control" as the Alta has. Play-riding some DIY electric bikes scares me regardless of how much/little power they have because of the unpredictable power delivery. Drifting and power sliding the Alta is a lot...

Terrific - but will it be effective off-road ?

This video is epic!!! @Matt, @OneLapper -- If yoiu are going to do this again, sign me up! Riding the Alta in the mud for 24 hours was some of the best time I have ever had on any bike! Here is my hill climb video from the 2019 NE 24-hour Challenge...

    New Forum Name

Yep. Alta Owners Forum is now Electric Dirt Riders. The URL electricdirtriders.com is a bit long to type, so I also set up a shorter EDRforum.com. It is still propagating and should start working soon.

    Battery construction 5,8kwh 72V

Cool project. We have a lot of DIY guys here who do electric conversions and build their own batteries, some with cooling. @Mark911 @DonCox
