My heart bleeds when I have too many beautiful and fully charged bikes sitting in the garage, and nobody rides them. That's bike cruelty, neglect and abuse. I'd rather give a bike away to a better home than have one sitting like that.

Next time I have to push the Alta, I will be taking the chain off. It does not roll at all if you have to spin the motor too.

Blame the SM. I think the wider triple clamps spacing was done for the SM's wider 4-piston caliper. I like the appearance of the fork legs being farther apart. A thigh gap is fashionable now.

From what I know, the Alta's front hub also has the brake rotor 7mm farther out to the left than the KTM's front hub. So they are not directly interchangeable. Besides the 7mm wheel spacers you have to add a 7mm spacer under the brake rotor, or under the brake caliper.

Over time jumping the Alta starts to feel safer than jumping gas bikes. No chance of being in a wrong gear, hitting a neutral, or stalling the engine. Also, on the Alta you can pull the nose up with the throttle much more effectively than on gas bikes, preventing the endos that would have been...

Maybe someone could write add-ons and updates and sell them to us? There are aftermarket seats, fenders, lights, why not the firmware? This is how most Mercedes/BMW/Audi/Porsche tuners earn their living -- flash in their own performance firmware into customer cars.
