    Looking at a $6k MX w/code35+36

I would highly recommend researching the forum for more details. Can batteries be repaired? Sure. No new batteries are made for Altas due to the low volume of production.

    Newbie Here!

To add on, unless the bike has been updated, you may get a fault on the Rapid charger with a standard bike. The Rapid charger can also be connected with a 110V pigtail as @Scooter584 said. There are a few diys on the site.

    Looking at a $6k MX w/code35+36

A Code 36 is related to a potential voltage imbalance across some of the modules. Originally used to identify a manufacturing defect, it turned into a big deal after Alta went under. Potential end result of a Code 36 pack is non-drive of the vehicle due to low voltage.

Code 37 after +6000kms of MX

@wwmotors - you can change out the desiccant pack that will partially help. But based on the reading the humidity value is within spec...The humidity sensor can be thrown off pretty easily. You may want to clear the code with MT and see if it continues.

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

Thats sorta not true...before we went under we were very much actively trying to release the MXR for the EU market. EU Homologation is a PITA and required some work from our ME team to push...and they did right to the point of closure.

    Withdrawn 2018 MXR 16k

Two things. Clutches and Electric motors arent the bestest of friends. Brammo did a clutch application on there street bike...which turned into a dealer reader of "leave it in third". Yes dirt bikes are a different animal in the 2-wheel space but the application of a clutch is more complicated...

    Registration in Wisconsin

Great job clearing up the issue! VIN stuff is always annoying. Surprised that NHTSA was acting up but the CA DMV had no issues (could be due to the interpetation of the 0 identifier).

I would leave the chain and sprocket alone. I swap between that on my MX which is currently in SM form. Updated firmware - if your bike has ever been updated - it can be done. Where are you in CA? If your an EX which is the A pack - you will see a slight increase in your time to 100% charge...

@K-hart Please make sure the DCCP Firmware is updated before going for a fast charger. Otherwise you may end up throwing an error code on your Alta.

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

Hahah. Yup. But big issue is supply. Finding 50s cells is hard as heck that are Automotive grade

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

Its probably the claimed weight and capacity. Over time with design development and homologation, parts balloon in weight. Also with cells, it sounds like theres a better cell on the market thats better than Murata.

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

Based on the "Cad" you showed and the dimensioning of the cells, looks to be 2170 cell. Also the cell tab is 21700 (though its an old school 18650 top). Looks like the BMS is on the top. Along with a single contactor...

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

Those are 21700s in the pack. Also looks to be air cooled. Also not surprised there gonna use Elcon for charging (TC Charger...)

Livewire is going public. Alta DNA now with 21700 batteries

Well, latest report on Motorcycle.com is Livewire went public and there are some slides encompassing the new powertrain design. 21700s instead of 18650s. Nice. https://www.motorcycle.com/features/harley-davidson-takes-livewire-public-announces-new-arrow-powertrain.html

    Aussie Alta owner

You need linux on your laptop to run multitool. If you can dual boot Ubuntu or run Virtual Machine that will suffice. You also need the communication harness too. Ideally if the pack was at 100% and has not been turned on...please turn it on. That 9V in the ACM might have gone bunk.
