The motor braking is quite different, to my understanding. The EX have motor braking in maps 3 & 4. The MX motor braking is most noticable on the lower maps. Some other differences as well.

Great info, thanks. Zero are using pouch cased cells and not the more familiar 18650 cylinder cells. They do it mainly for space saving. Is there a possibility that Alta are using these kind of cells as well? Just curious..

What do you guys think about this fender eliminator? Can help the EX/SM guys to turn it to a more sporty version. The MX/MXR riders can use it for on road riding with the needed accesories...

When I owned a Zero electric motorcycle, we reached the conclusion that regen does not add much to the battery capacity. Sometimes, turning regen off (possible in the Zero) and coasting when the throttle is off, will get you further.

Almost impossible to do. It is not really an option. If you want to ride outside the closed course, you need to purchase a licenced bike in the first place.

Just curious to know - don't you have insurance problems with these bikes? What I mean is that, in Israel, it's out of the question to ride outside a closed course with a vehicle that is not road permitted (only the EX and SM are permitted). If you accidently hit a bicycle, hiker and such, you...
