    Decal Kits for the Alta

My kit is made by Limited Decal. Their contact info is in post #24 above. They do put a small "Ltd" logo on my side numbers, but I like that, and I wanted it.

    Used or New? 2017, 2018, or 2019?

Unless there is an imminent battery technology breakthrough coming up next year, I'd go with a used bike once again. My '17 MX was a dealer demo, so buying it used knocked off a few grand of the total price, just like the instant depreciation that happens when you roll a new bike out of a...

    Tesla pickup truck

I thought we were talking about the Tesla semi truck. Turns out there is a pickup truck now as well! Cool.

    Regen in different maps?!

I once has a "cold" check engine light on my MX back in April. It was in the low 30's outside and in the garage. That lasted all but a couple of minutes.

    Tesla pickup truck

I might want this in the RV flavor. Living off-grid, except commuting to a nearest supercharger station once a week.

    New bling alert!

Cool. Guys who upgrade their forks, shocks, triple clamps, brakes, wheel hubs, plastic, seat covers, graphics on their electric bikes need all the help that they can get to stand out! Hell, we can't buy dual titanium pipes for our bikes, so the money must go somewhere.

    Owner's Review 10 minute review

All of us fast guys here  have geared up our bikes to 14/53 or 12/45. You have to do the same, if you want to be a member of the club!

For slow riding with no wheel spin or traction control algorithms kicking in -- yes, I think so.

If you use the same energy on acceleration, wind resistance, wheel spin, you will use the same battery capacity regardless of the map.

Body style changes with custom plastics / tins

I am not very familiar with any classic scrambles, if there were any. Are you going for an old-school off-road adventure look? In this case, which of the bike's features would define it as such? Steel front and rear fenders, low sweeping handlebars, perhaps a low exhaust pipe that goes up in the...

    Owner's Review 10 minute review

I am actually glad that all the way up is 4 and all the way down is 1. That small map indicator is impossible to see when not on smooth asphalt. I do not want to switch or accidentally bump the map switch buttons and be in Map 1 instead of 4, or 4 instead of 1. It is a safety and error-proofing...

Considering changing to KTM triple clamps.

The brake rotor is 7mm more to the outside the clear the Supermoto wheels and larger calipers. It was simpler for Alta to keep all the same wheel hubs, wheel axles and triple clamps, I guess.

Warnings on dashboard on new MXR

Imagine this: You have the best dirt bike in the world right now, and then a dealer in your town a few months later. Isn't this so much better than any other option? ;) About one year ago Alta had just 3 dealers, all of them in California. Now there are several in almost every state. They keep...

    Red spring for the Red-shift

Ha! I have heard about these for cars, but for some reason I never thought they would be good for bikes too. Cool! Who sells them?

    2019 / 2020 wish list

I would like concaved (not convexed) shrouds. Make them compatible with older models. A higher ground clearance and higher footpegs. Altas drag foot pegs in the ruts where all other bikes glide freely. Also, it will be safer for the feet. User customizable maps, of course. Hot swappable...
