    Tesla Powerwall

Maybe! The Tesla app in the video I watched appeared to have bidirectional current flow readouts for everything, including the car charger. I don't want to read too much into that, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Tesla standardized their car & Powerwall charger requirements.

240v female to 110v male adapter

I think it's just a matter of time before Altas can use Tesla Supercharger stations, as the 350V Alta battery voltage is far more 'mainstream' than the 116V Zero pack.

    Tesla Powerwall

Well, I'm already on record about this device... About an hour ago I watched a video of one being installed & used in a home in England, it's amazing all the features it has. It also has that '2001, a Space Odyssey' monolith vibe I really like. :) Powering an Alta fast charger on 240V is...

Alta Dictionary -- Acronyms and Technical Terms

It would depend on the DC components & systems being powered. +/-12VDC & +/-5VDC would be pretty common, with possibly higher voltages in military/police or other special applications.

Coolant pump running while charging, why?

Probably nothing... but if the ACM contains or activates the low-voltage DC-DC converter for the electronics and powers on with the main contactor, it's possible everything the ACM controls (pump, etc.) fires up too. A simple electronics/harness block diagram would be a nice reference item to...

Ty Tremaine and Lyndon Poskitt to race in the Erzberg Rodeo

According to a Dunlop guy I talked to, ST tires generally use harder compounds than intermediates, with the HT tires sometimes using very soft rubber (I felt one at a show that was slightly sticky). I go thru 2-3 ST sets a year, and I find ST knobs tend to stay flatter and sharper-edged as they...

    Holy 14T - Sweet Spot!

Judaslefourbe posted this at the EMF Alta forum a while back: "One thing you need to consider with EVs is the motor efficiency also. The Redshift sweet spot is between 6,000 and 8,000 RPM."

    240V Gasoline Generators

Sure! At least it's cool that the Alta charger works on 208V - an older design might not.

    240V Gasoline Generators

Yes, but you'd need access to the 3-phase supply and a transformer to do it. You could use an autotransformer with the existing 208 to step it up to 240, but that's just another clunky and expensive solution. Maybe the track guy is unaware of the 208V situation and has regular split-phase 240...

    240V Gasoline Generators

It's probably 208VAC derived from a 3-phase 240VAC supply, which is fairly common in US non-residential 240V applications.

    Chain Slider failures

I think this is industry-standard for an MX race bike. I doubt any of the major ICE mfrs would replace a broken chain slider under warranty, though the dealer might do it out-of-pocket to keep you as a customer. Just my $02.

    Chain Slider failures

I agree 100% ! - but it was real hard for me to watch my swingarm & motor mounts get irreversibly chewed due to poor OEM design, knowing I could fix it immediately myself. It's still amazing to me that after only two model years Alta has more aftermarket support for dirt-type items than Zero...

    Water in the rear subframe

If it were my bike I'd take off the black plastic mud guard / shock protector, and if there's a chamber in the upper subframe plastic (which I think may be inside that V-shaped area below the front tip of the black 'Future of Fast' graphic), I'd drill one small hole into the rear of it from the...

    Chain Slider failures

If your current slider is still mostly intact, a 9.50"/240mm x 1.50"/38mm x .125"/3mm steel strip JB Welded to the top of the lower slider section & drilled for the rear mtg screw should beef it up quite a bit. The raised ring around the screw hole would have to be cut off flush first, then the...

    240V Gasoline Generators

It can if the waveform shapes are different. AC utility power is often a slightly distorted sine wave, but generators & inverters can put out all sorts of 'modified sine' waves, some of which resemble stepped square waves. A 240VAC sine wave = 240V RMS, but a pure square wave can supply over...

    Warning light

I think so too, but I just searched 'heat' in the Alta manual and couldn't find anything specific about temperature monitoring. The Zeros use separate thermistors for each battery / motor stator / ambient, some of which can be accessed separately using the Zero app. Sometimes these can be off...

    Warning light

Hopefully Alta uses higher-temp rotor magnets than Zero. Both my Zeros were never the same after single first-level (no power limiting, only blinking temp light) hi-temp events, with reduced max torque at WOT from that point on. This was later corroborated by several other Zero owners after...

Little brass thread inserts in plastic -- How to fix

If you clean everything well and then JB Weld them in place, they'll be good to go. I've done this with plastic gas tank inserts, worked great.

    Alta supplied tools?

I just tried mine - the 6.5 front seems to be tapered, and only goes on my spokes one way (wrench head hooks to the right) and is real tight; some of the front nipples look slightly deformed. The 6.8 rear goes on the rear nipples either way, easily.
