The motor braking is quite different, to my understanding. The EX have motor braking in maps 3 & 4. The MX motor braking is most noticable on the lower maps. Some other differences as well.

Great info, thanks. Zero are using pouch cased cells and not the more familiar 18650 cylinder cells. They do it mainly for space saving. Is there a possibility that Alta are using these kind of cells as well? Just curious..

When I owned a Zero electric motorcycle, we reached the conclusion that regen does not add much to the battery capacity. Sometimes, turning regen off (possible in the Zero) and coasting when the throttle is off, will get you further.

I like the more refine look of Philip's 2017 black & white MX. This is what I would choose. That said, this metalic orange Redshift looks interesting.
