Stark varg support is the worst

Ya sorry to hear that. I am guessing Stark either got threatened with a lawsuit or maybe even had a lawsuit with regard to somebody DIY'ing something they had no clue about. I am kind of lucky there is a great dealer within a half-hour from me who I have done business with for years buying KTMs...

The "lock bike" feature isn't reliable

Agreed. SW is almost always the problem and AI hacks won't make it better and it may make it worse. I have already seen examples where know-nothings rush a fix in that AI generated, check it in since the snake oilers told them it is flawless cuz it is AI (which is really software). Only to...

The "lock bike" feature isn't reliable

A Varg dedicated platform might be worse. That would mean it would be totally proprietary and things would probably never get better or improve and Stark would have to do all the development and train developers on their platform. Either that or farm it out. I spent the first 15 years of my...

Stark varg support is the worst

I hear you UK. But just remember when dealing with the public not everyone has as much wrenching experience as you do. The lawyers use the Darwin Awards as a baseline when advising about public use cases. Stark's teams and their dealers doing something limits their liability. Here in the US if...

The "lock bike" feature isn't reliable

This is what happens when you have folks in a motorcycle house try to be software/firmware engineers because some bean counter convinced them that controlling the platform was the key to ongoing revenue. Stark is far from the only company doing this, not that it makes it right --just saying. No...

Stark varg support is the worst

Actually, I don't think they have many problems and what they are doing is shaving costs by keeping staff numbers at their service center small --that is why service is slow and at times unavailable. The internet tends to exaggerate problem/issues. I have bought 2 Starks (MX) over the last 2...

Multiple weeks Hard Enduro trip, what to bring?

I would swap out the stock skid plate for something with more protection if you are going to be doing a lot of rocky terrain. Also skidding the linkage over rock, roots, and logs is not good for it and can induce crashes too. I have broken fins off the battery with the stock plate in rocks. I...

    Varg MX 1.2

I should have looked into fed electric motorcycle tax credit. I got substantial credit on my solar panel and power station. I missed the MC credit though.

    Varg MX 1.2

The executive branch is running out-of-control here. The power of the executive to levy tariffs was supposed to be limited to National Security. Its just a way to tax without admitting its a tax which is current administration's MO. People are just plain brain dead. The government here is...

    Varg MX 1.2

Since Stark is apparently such a national security risk we should all be happy paying more taxes to the government via executive order... When Walmart tried to be transparent about pricing including tariffs they got a lashing from the executive branch tax collectors... :ROFLMAO:

Button Unit get Stuck with dirt, Varg EX and MX

I like the stock skid plate. But the AXP has some extra good protections. I switched to it after I broke some cooling fins off the battery on right side in a rock garden crash with the stock version. The AXP plate allows for more air flow/venting to the battery, shielding higher up the battery...

    Stark Varg “weave” (steering wobble)

As others have suggested tire pressure and type of tire would be first on my list. I would swap out the front tire before I did anything to settings and work my way from the wheel up. Next spokes and balance. Hacking at steering bolts, torques, and suspension before you eliminate the contact...

Button Unit get Stuck with dirt, Varg EX and MX

The Stark guys need to break out the 3D printer and use the dimensions to make a properly formed rubber boot with fasteners on the bottom with fasteners like the rubberized cable ties they have. Probably could charge 50.00 USD at Slavens for it. BTW I bought my new AXP skid plate (the first...

I am going with these for the kind of hard enduro I do:

Yes. Or the ones you got are available from Walmart online as well.

Button Unit get Stuck with dirt, Varg EX and MX

I wouldn't recommend the brand in the Amazon link. If you read the description it mentions moisturizes but is not really clear. However, they are infused with aloe vera it smells and I don't think the switch needs to be moisturized... :muutt:

Button Unit get Stuck with dirt, Varg EX and MX

That is a good point. On my Yamaha the rubber boot that protects the switches is formed to prevent that. Nevertheless, I am going to try the simple fix. As it is I have found the buttons on the MX can be somewhat flakey --especially when transitioning drive modes between crawl, reverse, and drive.

    Varg MX 1.2

Slimeball snake oil salesman have been with us forever it is not just a modern phenomena. If is sounds too good to be true it probably is --still holds like it has for centuries.

Ya maybe I should have done that before ordering the large.

    Varg MX 1.2

It was not just hot starting with the earlier generations. Until 2006 they couldn't even get compression release right. And they were bears to start both hot & cold. And the carbs were total hunks of shit for years and years and years and years. My 2015 WR450F with electric start and FI is not...
